There was always such a beautiful atmosphere and direction changes on Ultravox something what is complete lost today . The screaming portamento Arp Odyssey sound . Its still amazing.
This is a B-side track (B2) on the 12" single but it is not the proper 12" extended version. This is an extended mix of the 1st (demo) version of "I Wish I Had" that originally appeared in the "The Best Of Your Secret's Safe With Us" 1982 various artists LP compilation. I was there age 13, first concert ever attended on my own. The drums at the end of The Voice has lived with me forever. Saw them multiple times after including the Return to Eden and Brilliant tours
Came here because of the Zoltán D video cause I'm Hungarian, but since then I clicked this song and listened to it atleast 100 times. One of the best indie music i've ever heard, its a shame that alot of people havent discovered this band yet. A hidden masterpiece.
I was looking for years for this first and only version released in single. But , soon, ever since radios and clubs were playing only the album "live" version of it. THANK YOU
