I just painted my very first ever rock 🙂 but…I used posca pens and when I went to paint sealer on it the paint smudged all over and ruined it 😞 Do you have any recommendations?
Hi, did you buy the water thickener? Also, I found if I drop the paint from a distance it will sink, drop the paint right on top of the water and it shouldn’t sink. Also, some colors sink no matter why, I found my green and blue sink no matter what so I didn’t end up using them as much as I would like… hope that helps
i bought all of the supplies did it just like you did painted the rock white first waited 30 minutes for the marbling but all my paint sunk to the bottom what did i do wrong ? could you please reply thankyou
What sorcery is this? This is amazing! Do you know how I could finish this to make it work for outdoors? Trying to do a pet memorial for my dog. Also, do you coat the rocks in anything before you transfer?
I’m having a hard time with the ones I made. The toner is coming off after it dried then I use the water method to start peeling the paper off. When it dries the white fuzzy paper shows up on the toner/image that’s left. Will that go away when I spray sealer on it?

My 8 yrs old granddaughter is autistic, she likes art. I introduced her to rock painting. Just wash the rock put acrylic paint and that was all I knew. From differents art she tried seems to be interested in rock painting, which I support her in her arts and science projects. Thank you so very much for your time in explaining all about the materials and the ways to used them. Now I understand a lot. I really appreciate 😌 Have a wonderful day.
This is one of THE BEST beginner videos I’ve watched (and I seem to watching them all!!!)! You go through just about everything I can think about. Thank you so much for putting this together!!!! Rock on!!!
Hi! How is the paint staying on the rocks? When I do this, no matter how many base layers I use (between none and 7+ depending on the colors), how long I wait for the base to dry, whether I paint the base white or the middle color of the gradient, or what tools I use (I’ve tried various size brushes, chiseled sponge brushes, spouncers, and makeup wedges), etc. I ALWAYS get horrible streaks of rock that show through and the paint becomes very transparent after two strokes. I can’t understand what I’m doing wrong…
Thank you for sharing this tutorial ❤️ My only issue is that I can't see what colour you are dipping your paintbrush into at times as it goes off the screen and comes back with a different paintbrush.
