it'd be awesome if this controller suported calibration through a firmware update. Right now it calibrates like a modern controller, using the full ranges, makingg it inaccurate for gamecube on both, sticks and triggers.
I've seen this same comment a few times now, which is pretty concerning. Mine worked when I plugged it in. There is a setting on the Switch to allow USB controllers. You might want to check and see if that's turned on Otherwise, you'll have to contact Limited Run Games for support. I hope you get it worked out!
you didn't add the piece at the top right hand corner back on. Does it fit and work when that piece is added back? I have the same exact one you showed and need to know if it will fit when that piece is added in.
I'm sorry, but my memory isn't great and this was over a year ago. Which piece didn't I put back in, exactly? I remember putting it together and it worked because I'm playing on it at the end of the video, but like I said, my memory ain't what it used to be. If you can be more specific about what piece I missed, I'll ask the guys at the shop and I'll be able to get you a more accurate answer.
I tend to think of gaming generations like: single coloured sprites, barely recognisabe slightly coloured sprites that look more like the thing they represent full colour sprites that look like cartoons low res textured, low poly count 3D higher poly count 3D with muddy lighting good looking 3D with realistic lighting With every new console or graphics card release things look a little nicer, but we're way into diminishing returns territory; games have looked superb for more than 10 years
Last we heard from them, they were having an issue with one of the components. They shouldn't be much longer now, though we don't have an exact ETA at this time.
100% in agreement. Except I would take some of same argument and apply it to the opinion that Bloodlines is also better than Super Castlevania 4. Sure, the latter has some crazy looking mode 7 visual effects like the rotating rooms and the barrel background. But those are really gimicky and are wasted on some of the least enjoyable levels. Bloodlines’ visuals actually add to the gameplay. As a result I prefer Bloodlines over either SNES game.
Bloodlines vs. 4 is a really interesting comparison. I know I personally like 4 better, but there's a lot of nostalgia goggles there. 4 is a super weird Castlevania because of how much freedom of movement you have. Its music is amazing, except specifically the new renditions of Beginning and Vampire Killer. And you're right about the mode 7 stuff being gimmicky. I'll have to do a proper breakdown of those two someday. It'll be fun! Thanks for watching!
@@stoneagegamer I played 4 until years later (after I played Bloodlines and Dracula X), so my opinion is probably screwed in the exact opposite direction. I totally understand how, as an early release, it smacked people with how impressive the graphics, music, and improved controls were. It IS a great game. But I always felt the Simon sprite looked like a marionette (ie Earnest Evans), the early levels were drab and basically designed. No doubt a good time overall and I have my issues with Bloodlines too. But without the “goggles” that many have, I thought 4 was kinda mid-tier for the series.
@@The76Edge The visuals in 4 are such a weird mixed bag. Even when it first came out I never thought Simon looked very good. Some stages look amazing, while others are like you said, kind of drab. I'm definitely going to have to do a side by side on these two at some point and see how well it holds up for me. Maybe next Halloween!
This was a totally fair breakdown of each game! Both are fun but bloodlines has a certain 'wow' factor... I always felt that just the idea of a Castlevania game on the Genesis/Mega Drive must have been exciting for the developers to have a new sandbox to play in and try something different. Great review!
Easily, It is the better game. Many were dissapointed with Vampire kiss when it released and although I like it I would not replay the game after finishing it but Bloodlines gameplay just flows better.
It's part of a larger video talking about the status of various IP Nintendo owns. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TNqlJnVrGLE.htmlsi=n6M-UBCUkKUcyELI
I’m with you on sotn, the PlayStation version which was a home console release and the original should be on the next compilation over the portable redub.
They need to put vampire killer on the next one, that game has never gotten any kind of compilation release and it’s such a great game, it’s better than the nes version as perfect as that title is.
Boy in fact I pre-ordered it and enjoyed it on day one and bought a second unit many years later after it was discontinued and Blockbuster Video was selling their rental units for like about 30 to $50 and still have my two units with a slew of games unfortunately both of my units are now broken and I need to find a repair center that can properly fix them so I can go back to using it again cuz I actually miss playing it
I wouldn't really know where to begin on troubleshooting it. Mine detected it as soon as I plugged it in. You'll have to contact Limited Run about that.
I just bought this. People are missing out on a cool experience. I managed to snag all the heavy hitter Atari games, plus some cool third oarty ones. Atari 50, Qomp 2, Akka Arrh, The Recharged Series and Mr Run And Jump are spectacular. NeoSprint is the best too.
I have a 32 inch Sony Trinitron from 2006 that still works and has all the connections on the back. I thought about S Video since I am using Composite and that looks amazing on this TV, but if I’m going to upgrade I may purchase one of these components from you guys (I see a sale on the SNES Component but it’s only $1 off, not much of a sale sadly), and I hear the image quality is much better and a little brighter, so maybe it’s worth it to spend the money.
Question, I have a Pal Gamecube and am torn between 2 options. These cables or the HD Retrovision Component. Since the Pal Gamecube can output RGB. Would I notice a difference between these options? Thank you in advance
I just got the gf retro vision cables for ps2 for $30, and regular cheap $7 composite cables and they look pretty much the same in picture quality. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t return the hd retro vision ($30) and keep using the $7 composite cables?
I wonder how good it would be to play NFL 2K with a wireless controller (ps4 maybe?). I played so much of that on the Dreamcast that it might take some learning, with all the muscle memory of the original controller. Still, this looks like a very interesting add-on. :)
just got mine two weeks ago, had to update the firmware to get it running (no problem), and upgraded both the RAM and storage. so far i am LOVING it! those modern indie games are so cool
Are you still looking to sell some of your collection to raise money? Where can I see a list of available items? Do you have a Dreamcast broadband modem?
I appear to have things under control after letting a few things go. I posted the items I was looking to move on our Discord, which is probably what I'll wind up doing again if this comes up again. (Hopefully not!) But also, sorry, I don't have a Dreamcast broadband adapter. -Kris
