I remember when I watched this episode it hit me right in the feels 😣 especially when makino has a flashback of ace and luffy when they were young realizing how much grieve and pain luffy must be in. 😢
Dadan really is Luffy & Ace's Mother, Sabo too, but she raised those 2 boys and even though she tries to hide her softer side, she loves them with all her heart and this scene breaks my heart.
Even Sengoku is like well, you definitely aren't a traitor. It's too cruel to ask a marine to execute their own child who became a pirate against their wishes.
Yeah, he never wanted him to fight and he even asked him to not be there, but Garp wanted too. It's something a lot of people do not understand. He grew up as a marine, thinking that this is the right thing to do, man fought Roger and Rocks and only this time he is like "What am I supposed to do?!". I can only imagine what mixed feelings he has. But I believe if Ace was Luffy, he would not hesitate as much and destroy the whole marineford to free Luffy. (He spent much more time with Luffy since they are actually related. He is pretty much his son)
@@deadliqhttbf it seems he hoped that they succeeded in saving ace cuz ace had whitebeard backing. Once akainu killed him he lost all sense and had to have sengoku hold them down. So I wouldn’t put it as garp was more attached cuz even if luffy was captured and executed the same it would be the same but no doubt dragon and ace + white beard would come.
If you think about it, Garp is the one who suffered the most from Ace's death Yes, Ace died in Luffy's arms, but 1. Luffy didn't have the power to change the outcome 2. He atleast had his friends and Jimbei for support Who does Garp have? Sengoku? No, no one And Garp could have easily stopped Akainu. He regrets it to this day, which I feel is part of the reason why he's ready to go all out to save Coby
Agree But saving cuby is because he is his favorite student and a marine but I’m sure he would do the same if something happened to luffy So I get your point
Whitebeard bets everything to luffy because when garp joined the fight and punches marco he knew no one can pass and go to ace except luffy garps beloved grandson
At this point in time....this was the 2nd adopted child she had to watch die...she LOVED those boys...and she was so hurt at the fact that the one person who would have helped stood idly by and chose his career over his own family...this breaks me every time

Dadan fed them, nurture them, and take care of them. Dadan literally witnessed how highly Luffy looks at Ace. It hurts because nothing is stronger than a mother's love.
Next time, Luffy face the death and life situation against Navy again, I'm damn sure Garp gonna break his moral code of being a Navy. What's gone is gone, he shouldn't do the same thing as he did at marineford.
Nothing the Navy or the World Government could dish out is worse than what Dadan was giving Garp. She was making him feel every single moment of weakness and guilt. He took it all bc he knew he had to face her.
