I also have the same year make and model. I would need to modify the design to be able to sit up in the back, even if my legs are straight out instead of bent. I admire your apparent lack of claustrophobia! I'm thinking about taking out the driver seat, but leaving the passenger and middle rear seats in place. This would involve more custom fitting and cutting the memory foam sorta shaped like Oklahoma, but I travel with my service dog and he needs that backrest when we are on the road. I put a wire 4-tier rolling cart in the passenger side on the floorboard. This really helps me keep organized. Have you come up with a better cupholder idea than the wierd fold down unit? I'm about to yank that out and add a cup/phone holder elsewhere. Thanks for the video, and thanks to Dad for the skills.
Thank you for your time and posting. Right now, it is US$45. :) Also, There are two plastic loops on the back bottom and you can buy a hip belt for about US$20 and hook it on.
1. If you love waterfalls, Spring is the best time to visit Starved Rock. 2. I prefer Mississippi Palisades and Shawnee National Forest over SR, even though I love SR (SR is the most visited due to its central location in Illinois). However, there are other places that if they were central to Illinois, like some lake parks, Pere Marquette, and the ones mentioned above, would likely draw many more people. Illinois has many amazing places, even the smaller "hidden" ones.
Nicely done video. I am planning to go around the full borders of Michigan in May. Seeing multiple lakes will be fun. Looks like you had lots of good food over there.
Nice set up with details for a beginner. I have a 2014 CRV planning to convert for a single traveler use. I would lie to keep the rear seat in place so my wife wont be upset. The plan is to fold down the large seat and build a platform over it. my concern is still the ease of removal of spare tire should there be a need, though rare. I am not sure how easy it is in the build you did on the access to the spare tire. If you can do a demo that would be great. You and your Dad rock. Happy Camping.
To be honest, installing the rear seats after removing them was quite a pain, so I would definitely try to build around them if I were to do it again! Removing the tire would be pretty much the same as having nothing in the trunk, just have to hold up the top piece of the bed, and then access the tire as normal.. but like you said, hopefully you'll never need to do that 😁 I hope it everything goes well on your build!
Great content. Enjoyed the video. I don’t understand why this channel doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of views. Keep going , all it takes is one viral video
I am a college student living in Chicago, in a couple months my family will go out of country for about a month so I am definitely going to be copying some of these car camping routes you have uploaded for my first times 👍 thanks!
It definitely depends on the company - we went with Viking (which are on the pricier side - about $1000/day including travel), but there are other companies like GAdventures who cost much less!
I've been around the world a few times with this bag. I love the organization, but the straps dig into my shoulders and it makes me miss the Farpoint with those big thick straps. If they gave this bag bigger straps it would be 10/10 for one bag carry on. I still love it and can't bother to replace it yet. But if I end up walking around for several hours I do start to cry from shoulder pain.
Hi, Do you know the interior measurement from the interior closed hatch to the back of the front passenger seat when the passenger seat is slid and tilted all the way forward? I'm wondering if a 6' tall person could sleep inside it with the hatchback door closed. - thank you
Not sure how I found you or your video. But here I am. You did the upper peninsula well. Hit the bullet points I did that in 2021. Itching to spend more time in the up soon.
This is pretty embarrassing... Take that massive neoprene sleeve off. Quality? How do you know if you never use it? Just hilarious to give such a negative review on a product you've never used.
How is no one else annoyed by those dumb compression straps? I hate them on mine. They are always in the way and I don't think they add much to the bag design. Also note that the large/wide grab handle on the front can be used as a pass through for a wheeled bag handle. It works ok. It's not great since it is at the bottom.
This was such a fun video! ☺️ I’ve been following along for a while now and your editing skills on videos are great! Can’t wait to see more. Also a fall Starved Rock video would be awesome, it’s such a cool place for Illinois.
Wow thank you so much! My goal is to get better with each video :) Starved Rock in the fall sounds awesome, I will add it to my list. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a fun trip! You convinced me to visit Traverse City and Holland after this. Love all the food, Midwest love, and throwback pic to summer camp! 🥰 Carly is hilarious- please feature her in every video going forward, k thanks 😂
Heading there possibly this weekend from NW Indiana. If you’re looking to do some hiking that might be a little farther but with similar terrain then check out Turkey Run and Shades state parks in Indiana. They’re close to each other and are considered our best parks.
