I've been digging through dusty bins and crates for over 30 years and now I am sharing some of the more obscure 45s that I've found. A lot of these records are pretty beat up, but I do my best cleaning and ripping them. Also I love all genres of music so there will be posts ranging from jazz to country to rock to whatever, most of these I like and some I don't, so not really endorsing anything here, just sharing hard to find stuff and some not so hard to find 😁 . That being said if you like private label releases, scarce early 45s, low-run promos, etc.. and you don't mind some pop and sizzle with your music then this is the channel for you!
Please share any info you have on these great artists in the comments!
This is a good song! I like how fun and exciting this song is! Although this song was recorded and released in 1973, which sounds like that year to me, it also sounds like it could've been recorded and released from within April 1969 to March 1983, which I would personally call "the 70s era"! This goes to show how arbitrary cultural/design eras really are! This was fairly standard for 1973, which was good, but it also sounds like 1982 or even early-1983, although unfortunately it already went "out of fashion" by as early as mid-1979. I think it sounds great for either 1973, 1983 or 1966. I even think that slightly flared pants and slightly thick-soled shoes looked great for 1967 TO 1982! Some people liked wearing such clothing even if it was considered "outdated" by most people back in the early 80s (1979 to 1983). But again, I don't see it that way and I thought those clothes fit the 70s AND early 80s very well! To me, I think the early part of a latter decade is naturally similar (or in some cases identical) to the former. I believe it's meant to be. I was born in 1992 and I love old things! I'm a proud old soul at 31! I often believe that older stuff, such as that from the 70s and 80s, is superior to stuff today. Don't get me wrong, I like new stuff, too! What era any music, hairstyle, make-up, or clothing, etc. is from is absolutely a matter of opinion. Fashion change is very gradual. It takes years, even decades for music, clothing, hairstyles and other things to evolve. But there's always gonna be repetition, no matter how you slice it. I think it's good when some things stay the same.
This is fantastic!!! Also want to say your channel is a gold mine man. I'm digging around into everything and finding so many interesting sounds. As a musician this is like a kick in the pants for inspiration. Keep up the great work!!
there was just a tiny chance this would be the famous Lostwave tune "Just A Game" in full. nope, just another awesome jam this channel is sharin' with us this blessed spring day.
Yeah tbat 45 is extremely scratched up. I ran that thing through the audacity filter twice, anymore than that reduces quality too much. Also nothing Northern about it. From California and the fan boys in the UK never made any dubious claims about this track. Glad you dig it though, I'll post the b side.
@@RareTrackss Never heard the flip side so will look out for it. the 45 is rare as hens teeth in the UK so only played rarely on The UK Northern Soul scene, but if a copy were to come up here for sale it'll set you back over £500 easily, Kev Cooper.
@@RareTrackss All the copies in the UK I am aware of (3) are in the hands of Northern/Rare Soul collectors/DJ's. This has a slightly throw back sound about it & would definitely fit into a more discerning Northern/Rare Soul DJ set....its a fabulous record in every respect, but will probably never be a BIG popular play as rarity dictates it may not get the wider exposure required.
