Understand; we could had gone full time: but we love our home. And we’re weekenders and we’re empty nesters which is way easier. But we don’t get complicated with an RV: we have a Couples Travel trailer only 26ft and if it were up to me I would go smaller. But I have this big called happy wife syndrome lol .. Now once we retire which is still some years away, we’ll go partial full time; 4 to 5 moths out of the year only. Our homestead will become an Airbnb here in Miami, FL When we’re not here. I understand the business since i have managed a few .. Perhaps get yourself something way- smaller as an RV to use two or three times a year. Best Wishes a first time watching..
Living full-time in an RV is a challenge and requires a lot of work. We've talked to quite a few folks over the years that were living in an RV because their work required them to change locations frequently and I tip my hat to them. Being a military, we moved a lot during my childhood. I've often thought that when my wife and I retired, we should have gone full-time for a year or two and toured the USA, but we ended up having a cottage on a lake, which we sold after six years. We still love RVing, but health issues and others have made it difficult to take long, multi-week trips but we still enjoy our house on wheels! Good luck as you travel down a new highway!
Thank you so much for commenting. It was definitely not an easy three years, but it was completely worth it and I encourage all who have an interest to give it a try even if for a year or two.
Congratulations on three years and 26 or 27 states. Way to go! 🙂 Are you keeping the RV and truck or are they both already gone? My wife and I have a Class A diesel pusher. We only oart time, but we really enjoy it. However it is nice to come home after a trip too. See friends and visit our favorite restaurants. Personally i really enjoy seeing new grocery stores and walking all the isles to see what they have. That is just fun to me.
Well ya did what was best at the time and now move on for the reasons you said. I and my wife of 40 years have been partiming for 30 plus years and owned motorhomes all this time. We would never travel full time for many reasons . We are glad you made the decisions you have.
Very insightful and honest. Im just a weekend when I can RVer and often think about going full time. Even being part time I can relate to points youve discussed. Again, Thanks for sharing!
Agreed very insightful. I’m planning on going full timing this fall and I’ve considered a lot of these concerns and I think and preparing myself as much as possible. Getting TT membership to travel every 21 days. I don’t have kids just 2 furbabies and I actually enjoy being by myself now (recently separated from husband), I’m getting a used RV and will upgrade suspension as well as get an RV inspection done. I do plan on taking the NRVTA Rv owner course….digital then hopefully in person training to learn how to fix common/simple problems and have a lan to do maintenance as required. The one I can’t really know until I start is burnout and the monotony. I do have a plan to do charity work and learn how to fish. I will be working remotely so using TT membership and having a good WiFi internet plan(probably T-Mobile and Verizon). I’m very excited to start and look forward to your other videos.
@@jocelynb8935 How awesome! Even with all the downsides I do highly recommend everyone wanting to give it a try. It was truly an amazing experience! Thanks for watching!
Hi 👋🏻 Wonderful video! So cute! 🥰 I’m looking to book the same stateroom #6067 and wanted to know from your experience of staying in that room do you recommend it? Thank you in advance 🥰
@@milcarodriguez8398 We did but only slightly. We had bands for wrist and motion meds. Still enjoyed our trip! I will tell you that for like 5 days after getting off ship I still was recovering 😂
There is something wrong with modern society when a family can't exist on one money earner and the other partner raises the kid/s vs. warehousing them.
We’re not traveling much right now either. Last major trip was in 2023. Wife and I are currently taking care of my elderly mother. Hopefully some day we can go back to traveling
Proud of y’all for doing what’s best for your family. We had to cut back on travel due to health issues and also the financial strain, but we still try to find little weekend trips and hikes and adventure wherever we can get it 🖤
Every time we were in a state with a Meow Wolf, it was closed or about to have a grand opening haha. We really want to go. Our trip to Vegas had to get cancelled, flights were wild. That was supposed to be Auck's first Vegas trip. So many ideas for places to take family pics too.
These are good tips. We've been talking about going on one with Auck and his cousin in the future but not sure how old we want to do yet. 3 years old seems like a good age though. At least for our nephew.
