not a fan of USA movies I've never seen any of theirs, but the rep they have is very complimentary + intriguing so I decided to kill time this morning listening to some of their interviews can't put my finger on why but after an hour of watching for the third time now the feeling I'm watching a Frank Zappa interview is popping into mind uninvited is this just me or is it them?
The first time I saw this movie I was alone and stoned in a campus cinema. I did not like it. Boy was I wrong. Seen it over 50 times since and always laugh at how I saw it stoned and disliked it somehow.
Why are both picking their fingers... mimicking one another...It seems too similar to be a coincidence...and these guys are brilliant with the subtleness... ps. PERHAPS THE GREATEST MOVIE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN...BY THE SAME BROTHERS...a movie starring NICOLAS CAGE TITLED, "RAISING ARIZONA". TRULY AN ARTISTIC MASTERPIECE...Shocking it remains so UNDERRATED.
I watched this movie around 100 times (that's not a joke, I really did). Do I need to say how much I love it and that it's the best movie ever made? :)
Enemy is as close as anyone that could get to David Lynch. We got the weird paranoia, angles, a pair of doppelgängers, Isabella Rossellini ( Blue Velvet) that tells him to quit that fantasy about being a movie actor. It's Lost Highway and Mulholland Dr. He's at war with his own shadow self and so many other things. Similarities are striking. I think it's Denis Villeneuve last chance to make this kind of art house project before he got to make all those big budget films. I was just watching it for the first time since it came out. I remember that it did hit a cord in me but i did not understand it and left it at that. I have been waiting to see Dune 2 now for months but tomorrow i'll watch Dune 1 and then go on the other at the Cinema. I think it's getting out this week.
This is the Best Live Action Disney Movie, Right Next to, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, The Incredible Journey, Homeward Bound the Incredible Journey, Homeward Bound 2 Lost in San Francisco, The Mighty Ducks, D2 The Mighty Ducks, D3 The Mighty Ducks, Cheetah (1989), Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Flight of the Navigator, Hocus Pocus, The Journey of Natty Gann, White Fang, White Fang 2 Myth of the White Wolf, Etc. Etc. also, I remember renting this movie when it was released on VHS, another hour later my husband Adam, our five children, our 6-year-old Identical Twins named Ellie (Girl) and Julian (Boy), our 8-year-old daughter named Sarah, our 10-year-old Fraternal Twins named Keith (Boy) and Ruth (Girl), and I would sit down in the living room, Adam would put the movie in the VCR, he would sit on the couch beside me, we would each have a bowl of Hot Popcorn with Hot Butter, a Candy Bar, a Soda Pop, We would watch the movie, and over the next few hours we would watch the movie in spellbound silence, it was amazing from start to finish, Great Acting, Great pace and Special Effects, Great Everything.
I think, I didn't get it on my 1st viewing, but it was soooooo looooong ago (Perhaps, I was too young). I rewatched it recently, and it's a madterpiece :----).
