Much of the guidance will refer to guidelines produced by the "National Institute for Health and Care Excellence" in the UK, also referred to as "NICE". Please note that the content on this channel reflects my professional interpretation/summary of the guidance and that I am in no way affiliated with, employed by or funded/sponsored by NICE. The channel covers not only NICE guidance but also guidance from other organisations / institutions. Finally, there are also clinical cases, fictitious or otherwise, showing my interpretation of the relevant guidance from a very practical point of view.

Thank you for your comment. There may be many reasons why ALP may be raised. Whilst cancer is a possibility, it is by no means the most likely cause, so it is not necessary to jump to conclusions or put yourself in the worst-case scenario. The important thing is that your dad sees a doctor and that he has the necessary investigations and regular monitoring. If he has been properly investigated and no cause is found, that is good news. There are physiological variations and genetic factors that can lead to high levels without being a concern. I am sorry that I cannot give any more specific advice here, but the important thing is that he sees a doctor and gets checked regularly 🙏
@@janyazici9736 Thank you for your question. I am sorry about the delay in responding. NICE does not specifically mention SaO2 in their guideline. It does not mean that you should not do it as part of your routine assessment of the patient. I imagine that the guideline focuses on the narrow specific interventions for COPD diagnosis rather than the wider patient assessment. CKS does say "Carry out a general examination including vital signs (such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse oximetry)". But my videos are only based on the NICE guideline, whereas CKS gives additional recommendations which are not always included in the actual NICE guideline. I hope that this helps 🙏

No major changes from the previous guidance as such but they make references to the technology appraisals on SGLT2 inhibitors for heart failure which have changed relatively recently with dapaglifozin and empaglifozin being recommended for both HFrEF and HFpEF
