All subway systems in the world are bankrupt. The unions have retirement pension claims which can never be paid. Already, thirty percent of ticket prices go to pay pensions. And the payments keep getting higher, so ticket prices keep getting higher. It’s a Ponzi scheme. Eventually, all the public transportation companies, and all other unionized groups will have to declare bankruptcy, in order to wipe pension debt off the books. The unions will be dissolved, the pensions will disappear, and then newly formed companies will be able to reduce operating costs and ticket prices by sixty percent. Right now, subway riders are getting ripped-off by union monopolies.
