I know this is old and I don’t know the exact message behind the music and lyrics. But it makes me feel like No one really knows me, but what people do think is the completely opposite of who I really am. And I’m unaware if people like me or not, and if someone does give me attention I will cling to them and love them forever. I’ll be grateful if you gave me a simple compliment. I’d think people start to like me. But I try so hard for success, that I drive myself insane and to death quicker. And people only realize my existence when im dead

I've always pictured that his death was an accident and he was hanging off a tree trying to get attention but feel abd smashed his head on rocks under a pile of leaves dying upon impact and now he's haunting (and taunting) those who never paid any mind to him about how he literally had to die to be noticed in any way at all.
My interpretation of the lyrics: there are two siblings the older siblings the oldest sibling was attacked by alligators and got lavished with attention “ those green alligators I wish they had ate her” when they started to get less attention he started to do more dangerous things swallowing swords, playing with fire & knives But nobody cared. He comited suicide, jumped off a building or bridge “Autum leaves failed to break my fall” A funeral was held and as they were watching (as a ghost) they felt weird with all the people caring about them and is acting all sarcastic “as your new king I decree it’s to late to start worrying about me”, “you should be smiling” and “I want some sort of balloons and your tears can be the confetti”. Feeling that they should have card more they say with a bit of anger “all this could have been avoided all I wanted was to talk” Ps: whenever I hear this song I imagine them as a spirits sitting on their tombstone swinging their feet.
At 0:41 it has nothing to do with actual alligators,aligators are a sign of jealousy so the person was jealous of there sister :D (i know the full meaning of the song but id just wanna clear this up!)
Or I could be wrong,the alligators represent the people giving the sister attention.it makes sense with the next line "I wish they ate her" meaning they wouldn't care about her anymore (idk what theory is correct atp..)

When i realized "A whole garden of flowers,and my name etched on a rock, all this couldve been avoided, all i wanged was to talk.." Means The flowers on a grave with your name on it and the reason being suicide because no once cared enough for you
Honestly, this song is really relatable to me for the reason that I’m bipolar, people often perceive me as someone crazy who they shouldn’t be around, which led to me having very unhealthy habits, and people only started showing love when I was doing crazy and drastic stuff
Surprisingly, I dont see this as the guy literally playing with swords and lighters for attention. I also dont imagine they jumped off a building but it could be. The song to me already starts when they're dying [the rope's getting tighter,] The playing with fire part, they know what they're doing is dangerous but they do it thinking someone will save them. The bike riding part could allude to them riding the bike to the park where they'll hang themself from a tree, and to them preferring to isolate - to try to get people interested, not to be away. The second time bike riding is mentioned, they know isolation doesnt spark interest and people genuinely believe they want to be left alone. They're done with that tactic, and start to resort to an attempt at self harm, which could also be another of their possible deaths with the bleeding on the floor part. Anyone discovering the slightest scar would be told an excuse, but always with a hope of further questioning.. that would not come. They try to make it obvious- they dont even hide it that much, but nobody cares about what they do to themself. The rope snaps but the deed is done and their lifeless body falls to the ground. Coming from a fellow attention seeker.

Heres my interpretation of this songs meaning... WARNING:SH So there was this boy named hansel who had a twin sister with a disorder of some kind and got all the attention, and hansel got neglected. And since his sister had a disorder all of the people around him would go talk(but actually bully) her. But hansel didn't know this so she thought of her disorder as some attention seeker tactic. So in order to get attention he starts to SH but is to scared to show anyone so he doesn't get attention. The only thing he got attention for was bike ridding because other people would wave hi to him as he drove by. One day he took Gretel (his sister) to a place like an island that had alligators and pussed her into the water but she didn't die so easily, Instead she just went to the hospital which got her more attention. Finally he cant take it anymore with the bad neglect he was getting. He jumped into the place with the alligators and so gone with time. When he sees that people had found his body and made a funeral for him he gets the attention he wanted but he realizes. When he was SH ing at the time he thought it was his and his sisters fault he was getting neglected. ( btw the neglect was so bad the only thing his parents gave him was peppermint tea but he couldn't read the instructions so he couldn't make it.) So when he finds out it wasn't his OR his sisters fault it was his family's he becomes less and less happy at his funeral and he noticed that everyone was crying now but it didn't matter because now that he is dead there is nothing they can do about it.
