I’m going to have to get mine fitted I think lol. I’m 6’3 285 but don’t have a gut only about 28% bf. One size past and different size top wide shoulders but only a 38in waist
Glove weight doesn’t necessarily mean more padding either. It doesn’t only go for size which I agree. It all has to do with brand. A 10 oz glove could have more padding than a fairtex bgv1 16 oz
A lot of times 16 oz gloves doesn’t mean necessarily more padding as with fairtex Bgv1 for example. So oz is only for weight. Not for size or padding. That depends on the brand of the glove. A 10 oz glove could have more padding than a fairtex bgv1 16 oz
This guys a genius, some of the gloves he's reviewing are exclusive to his store, so when you google the glove his store is the first one that comes up! Clever
But how exactly is Fairtex BGV1 that different from the Raja glove? I understand that Raja and Twins look very similar due to having more cushioning and have that bulkier appearance as Fairtex is a more compact glove but are they THAT different that you wouldn't even want to compare the Fairtex brand to the other Thai boxing brands?
Hello, I just wanted to say that I understand why he doesn’t compare them. Indeed, I bought a pair of Fairtex gloves and a pair of Raja gloves, and I know it’s hard to understand, but they are like night and day. The Raja gloves are perfect for my use because I have small hands, and I feel I have a good grip inside. On the other hand, in the Fairtex gloves, my hands float; there is too much space, which is dangerous for me. I wouldn’t be able to use them without covering my hands with a thick layer of protective wraps. For my part, I will never buy Fairtex gloves again. Not because they are of poor quality, but because they are not suited to my type of hands.
@@picthune I have the same issue with the Fairtex bgv1's. I can't make a real fist in them because the finger compartment is just so long for my fingers and I did injure my right hand pretty bad because of this. Since then I bought Boon compacts, Twins Specials which I was able to make a fist in them but they both still didn't feel right for me. Lastly I got the Fairtex bgv19 which is their tight fit glove and they're the best glove I ever used so far
to practice body kicks we usually have it so one hand is behind the other to give a but of extra padding and then u can also put them so your fingertips are parallel for less experienced kickers
Yes Sir, as a pure Boxer I can easily confirm your opinion on Twins. I've tried them myself out in 16oz. Seriously, they felt not good, too tight, too stiff, couldn't close my hand to a good fist, and not mention that in Boxing we wrap our hands by 4.5 meter wraps, but not possible in these Twins. To me they rather felt like gloves for teenager.
Fightstorepro (formerly Fightstoremma) has been such a good project over the years but I find it amazing people watching the videos doing reviews don't consider the fact we very very publicly state our affiliations and perhaps likes and dislikes. Truth is FSPRO doesn't stock gear it doesn't believe in. Sometimes we don't stock gear we think is good but no good value, we dropped a couple of major boxing brands due to that reason. We had to drop TWINS Boxing gear due to them having a major legal problem but we still believe Twins are great. We brought in a lesser known brand in RAJA boxing to replace them which we feel are just as good.
Danger are no longer in business for the UK, I think they may still be selling some in Spain but try RAJA or REVGEAR thai gloves on www.fightstorepro.com
I prefer the BGL6 than the BGV9 and the BGL7( BGV9 lace up version). It’s have way softer padding so when you sparring, it gonna protect your hand and your sparring partner better.
Softer padding is great for hard bags, it prevents back pain, forearm pain and joint pain in general.. It’s like a suspension and there is no need to use hard cushions like Fairtex on hard bags.. Equally kicking hard backs will eventually lead to back pain as there is no suspension for joints.. Use pads on the shins to help with this, may seem counterintuitive but its conditioning is brilliant. It’s old style and a way to condition shins but it’s ridiculous for long term health.. Trained over 40 years so I know my shit..
Its not the worlds best Big Guy glove. Fairtex make SMALL size gloves. this is an improvement on BGV1 but if you're a big guy I'd use RAJA, REVGEAR (THAI MADE VERSION) or maybe even a none thai glove like our friends at Union. I nearly broke my left hand boxing for a year in BGV1
My hands are a medium size and Twins fit me really well and I think I can still fit hand wraps on underneath. I also tried Fairtex but Twins fit me perfectly. I've got boot bananas for my gloves to absorb moisture and make them smell nice plus got some handwraps to wear too.
I have a question, i am 6,1 weighin 86+ but my hands arent bigger than average, what could be the best tightiest 16 oz's gloves for me. I recently bought Cleto Reyes Lace ups, and they where really tight in the wrists.. obviously but my fingertops couldnt reach the top. Please guys and girls!! feel free to give Advice on tight 16 ozers!!!!
I’ve been using a pair of revgear pinnacles for kickboxing for a good while now, this video kinda got me thinking about wrist support. How would you rate the wrist support of a pair of Union Boxing Gloves?
