Body and soul interested John the Psycho 😂 nurse practitioner and medical odd bod government warning Andre eldritch is seriously good for yourhealth and wealth sonnhelnstrahl und die Licht strahlen did theyhave no manager like Depeche mode
Dr. Jeep is a stunning track in its own right, just like this one is, but 6 years makes a big difference in writing and sound. The band evolved, get over it. Although I personally think Vision Thing was the last great thing they did. Seriously though, of all later SOM tracks to hate on, you picked one of their best lyrically and musically from that era? Weird.
Things can't stay same forever - tho' buildings should, imo - & being in a band, having to get on with people enough to be able to create, is far harder work than it looks. Tho' yes, I also wish they'd stayed together a bit longer..
@Monkeyhead75 easy, he ditched his muscians. Have to remember the Sisters were a band, not just Andrew, with amazing guitarists like Marx and Wayne Hussey...look at how amazing The Mission turned out. That's where the tracks went. Point well made
Sorry you said how amazing The Mission turned out? its like comparing New Order and Joy Division (even New Orders cover versions like Ceremony look shitty...). Wayne Hussey is a good guitarist (was in fact brilliant playing with Sisters), wouldn't say a bad singer. They seem to try to convince themselves they are The Sisters, but it lacks the personality, lyrics and voice of Andrew... Anyway for me The Sisters of Mercy split in 1985, full stop... First and Last and Always is a Masterpiece, also the acheivement of a great, innovative, unique musical idea. Andrew Eldritch won the legal battle for the name, but he's in fact now a solo singer, he moved on. You can like it or not, I think its boring for an artist to be doing bad copies over and over again of the great stuff you did once, and so it is for the public...
I don't think The Mission did turn out amazing; I loved them at the time & I'd still go see them but their music was 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 the calibre of The Sisters' pre-1st & Last' EPs or some of the later Morrison era tracks which are timeless; sign of *true genius* 💜
i have 40 years old and some bands are like the 1 time i m listening the sisters are one of those bands and i know them at my age of 15 and i saw them in lisbon at the age of 18
It's watching this old stuff that gets me to wondering what could have been had Wayne and Craig not left the Sisters and formed The Mission. Granted I'm a HUGE fan of The Mission but classic Sisters of Mercy is great also. Too bad Andrew is such a prick that he has to destroy everything he touches.
