I need an alternative to use the P1AM-GPIO shield? The issue I see with the GPIO shield is that it is running 3.3 V rather than 5V, and thus wouldn’t work out for my motor it needs 5V to run at this maximum speed.

Hello, Thanks for this interesting code. I am having a similar situation for my project where I use heating and cooling instead of filling and discharging. However in rung 9 from the main program I saw the utilization of a fill valve but not the discharge valve. So how will the plc know that the discharge valve has to open in case the SP is < than the actual value.
Hi @junkydeka5534 In this example, the discharge valve is a constant. The PID is used to determine the tank's input filling valve. With a constant discharge, PID control will work well. Remember that this is a time-based control. If the discharge valve were to change, the PID parameters would also have to change. Heating and cooling applications are good candidates for PID since the heating and cooling devices and the mass controlled are generally constant. In your application, the heater would use PID to control the temperature in reverse. You would then build in a dead zone around the setpoint so that you are not trying to control heating and cooling simultaneously. The cooling will use PID to control the temperature forward. Usually, when I do temperature control, I use a dedicated PID temperature process unit like the Solo. This will handle the heating and cooling and, if needed, any cascade control. I've implemented the same idea for a checking station using arrays in codesys since bit's are annoying to work with (needed runtime configurable positions). So then I also came up with the idea of cross checking because sometimes optical sensors can miss things. Rather than an array of bits, I have an array of UINT, sensor station 1 sets the value 1 for every product it sees or sets it to 2 if it should be rejected, when sensor station 2 sees a product it will cross check the register of station 1, and if the first station missed the item (still zero) it goes and marks it 2 for rejection, this means you wont accidently send a bad product out the door because one of the checks didn't happen and it's very apparent when the sensor is not working since absolutely everything ends up in the reject bin.

I want to remove leading spaces from a string. I originally thought I'd be able to shift the data 8 bits (1 char) at a time until the first character <> space. But it doesn't look like there's a way to shift string data. What would be the best way to go about this?
