*Listen with good quality headphones* or the audio will sound incredibly flat and lifeless. Once again, gotta love these overly compressed SoundCloud mp3s. I’ve been fighting this track on and off for almost 10 years. This is the most I can do without further destroying its dynamics. I’d rather post it this way than not at all because it’s an absolute banger that needs to be shared.
@@VingulI can’t remember which file made the final cut tbh so I’ll have to import it back into Reaper when I get home. Normalization destroys the break’s dynamics. Amplifying adds clipping to the static effect that already sounds exactly like clipping. Using a limiter causes further compression. Uploading to RU-vid compresses it even more. Mp3 is a horrible format.
@@YarbTheLegend Thanks, it doesn't matter too much anyway, I was just curious. For what it's worth, I think it sounds alright. I use Reaper as well btw -- if you don't mind me asking, would you advise against normalisation altogether? I render at about -19 LUFS or so, depending on the project of course, to increase the volume of the track. Perhaps it would be preferable to simply increase the master gain? I'm pretty green.

I've been subscribed to your channel since 2016 (with a deleted channel, this one's new) and i swear that i have seen this same track uploaded, by the way, it's so cool to finally have a conversation with you yarb, your videos helped my creative process in ways that i can't even comprehend
@@yosoyn There are several of his “big hitters” that I put off uploading for years for different reasons. . . mostly having plans for them that never materialized. There are also a few that I want to replace with better images. Others that were deleted years ago that I want to upload again.
Yeah also this plays at the end of the 2010 movie "Four Lions" Warp Films has it's supports on production side of that movie. Druqks is also a album of Warp Records so that explains the situation.
Thanks, mate! One of my favorites. I remember listening to this tune on repeat on a Mini-Disc in the Hi-Fi sound system while in bed reading DBZ when I was 20 with one of my exes. It was a nice summer day in Belgium.

Thanks to everyone who stayed and welcome to everyone who joined. Quick note about this video and my future uploads: these SoundCloud releases have very inconsistent audio quality due to their outdated, overly compressed mp3 source files. MP3 is a lossy format so there’s no way to recover the data “lost” during compression. This can make enhancing the audio more complicated if not straight up impossible. More so than ever, to fully appreciate these tracks you really need to wear good headphones while cranking up the volume.
