Tai lung did it to himself like a little child who never grew up tai lung had darkness in him, and he would become mad with power whereas that wouldn’t happen with po he was a pure soul who would protect his friends where tai lung was willing to kill to get more power. The fatal flaw of the FIRST dragon warrior.
I think that Tai Lungs ‘evil’ was more just sudden anger that stemmed from sadness and betrayal. Sadness that Shifu; his only parental figure in life, his trainer, mentor, idol, and the person who he looked to the most for validation, did not defend the goodness inside him ONE bit when questioned. Just looking away, simply accepting that his adopted child was ‘evil’ and not even trying to reason with Oogway the tiniest bit. And betrayal; being trained his entire life for one sole purpose only for it to be denied and without a proper, justified reason. His entire meaning in life had been thrown away. He was heartbroken and hurt and became overcome by his emotions, that of which has happened to everyone.
Oogway knew Tai Lung had anger issues and knew that he would become a villain if given the chance. A true hero is someone who stays on the right path despite given many chances to do wrong or to become a villain
I mean Oogway watched and allowed Shifu to raise a cub to Adulthood into believing that he would be the Dragon Warrior and it was a foregone conclusion. Then Oogway is surprised that when the time came that Cub became arrogant and felt entitled to the position. Obviously Tai Lung would get mad and resentful as he was raised into believing it was his right his entire life. Now ofc his rampage across the valley isn't justifiable but it's understandable. The final nail was them effectively wanting to forget their own failure by leaving him to rot in prison for 20 years while his resentment and hatred festered without going to him and helping him resolve his grievances. If they did that they wouldn't have to worry about a time where he broke out seeking Revenge but no they created the problem and made it worse when they didn't try to address it before it happened again.
@@brandonbonas2761 That's true... Oogway should've told Shifu he had no right implying to Tai Lung that he'd eventually become the Dragon Warrior with extraneous training. Tai Lung was always under the impression that being the Dragon Warrior was his destiny because of Shifu.
i swear tai lung was a valid villain, i cant understand why he isnt the dragon warrior, he is so strong, he was doing everything for the title and was dropped by the ones he love, i would be on a villain arc too!
Imagine if oogway just gave him the “mirror”, u can already see how he would react : he still be Angry. Tai lung is too pragmatic that he wouldnt understand the spiritual value. He trained hard only to be the chosen one, not knowing the chosen one is not for you to choose. The way he handle the situation after not being choosed says a lot abt his character.
