The Big Air Kite League is home to The Big Air Tour - a series of elite-level Big Air Kiteboarding competitions around the world. It's for the riders ⚡️
That was Sick and well done everyone involved. I was smiling all the way through because I could tell everyone was so stoked to be involved and part of it. The format not only works for the rides but really worked for me as viewer, all the best bits brought to us with humour, adrenaline and personally. Mike you really are making a massive difference so keep it up.
Women in sports get paid according to how much money they bring in for the league. Following her logic, 10th place should get just as much money because they also have the same cost to do the competition
The reality is that kiting just isn’t a popular sport. It’s inaccessible to most people due to the few locations that are kiteable, cost, and complexity of learning it. Until the sport grows significantly, I don’t expect payouts for pros to change much.
Awesome comp and riding ! Thanks BAKL. Big love and support to you guys. Keep it coming !! Just 1 critique: can you delay the trick score until the replay or after the trick?Ruins the suspense when you know the trick score is 0 before they’ve landed it.
this was like last year right? to me it’s dilutive to call it bakl… bakl last year runs in parallel (sort of) with the world tour rite , so bakl events should track , Capture, and amplify the momentum of riders that are in the world tour and raging towards the culminating triple crown events in megloop, lords of tram and kota.. having this called a bakl event , AND be a season late seems like a squandering of the brands currency
Sorry to say that, but what is 4k, when just one pro kite is around 3k? And yes, I know, those guys are not paying for their gear, but still... So much money have to be put for doing this sport at good lvl. Traveling, accommodation, chasing wind, car renting, food, etc... We all know its A LOT, and its still, no big money around. Its a pitty.
Awesome content and all-round just great chaps. Great that BAKL creates these opportunities for such talented riders to earn some cash, so thanks to the sponsors SurfPirates and Surfr App too 👏
I nearly skipped this video -- the whole "fighting" thing and the thumbnial of two dude punching it out ..... a weird choice that's for sure. Perhaps have a thumbnail of a sick short line kiteloop next time :)
This content about kitesurfing and the competition is awesome! 🌊🏄♂️ The only thing that would make it even better is if the scores showed up a little later. I love trying to guess the scores and getting all pumped up about it! So if you could keep us in suspense just a bit longer, that would be much appreciated. Keep up the fantastic work, and keep those waves coming! 😄🤙
What a show, so entertaining from start to finish both online and live in person! Congratulations to all of the riders and continued success and health to all four of you 🤙🏼…also huge shout out to Mike MacDonald for continuing to be such an amazing advocate for kite surfing and teaching us all something no matter our skill level 🚀🙌🏻🤙🏼
Soooo GOOD! super sick content ... Well done to the Riders , BAKL and SurfPirates , 12 midnight here in OZ, so peeps will hate me if I share it now ! But It'll be all over the socials in the morning. Great to see you plowing ahead with the new platform for BAKL. Mike Yeew!!
can i suggest a format like: tricks over some hight (15?) counts or smth like this. It might also be a dynamic parameter to add some strategy for riders: for example, the hight that is over 70% of the highest jump in a heat. its not possible for a big comps due to wind schifts, but in a shows like this may work.
Once you have tasted megaloop, you will forever kitesurf the earth with your eyes turned upwind, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return
