It's bc Japanese saw themselves as being European, like Nazi Germany, and not part of Asia. They would portray themselves in 19th century with European features. This of course fueled the racist imperial wars of 20th century. It's incredibly stupid, pathetic, and delusional

It's not only Japanese men but also Japanese women too 😅 I’m half Japanese and I live in Japan,trust me, most of them are very sensitive about their body hairs. When I moved to Japan with my arm full of hair …. I was so surprised to see none of the females had arm or leg hair. Like not even a tiniest hair was visible lmao and the amount of ads on laser treatment for hair removal will make you go crazy. At least i go crazy lol and these days , hair removal of hoo haa is starting to trend here too.
God made people who worshipped him better looking. Fact: all none Christian countries arent as good looking. God does love us all, but those that worship him a little better. Stop worshipping rocks and trees, respect our Creator.

While I don't believe that all people in Japan likes the same things, there is a percentage of Japanese people who like the Caucasian look, but many prefer other nationalities with different looks.
Thank you for being honest about this situation, I’ve heard too many times that the anime characters are seen as Japanese but they are clearly Caucasian’s.
A 2013 study of dating app data found that white, latina, and asian women mostly preferred white men, while black women preferred black men. Black, Latino, and white men preferred asian women, while asian men preferred Latina women. What would be the purpose of conditioning all men, except Asian men, to prefer Asian women? What would be the purpose of conditioning Asian men to prefer Latinas? If a top-down social conditioning scheme is in play, how do you explain Passport Bros? It sounds pretty silly to me.
Sashi-san, Thank you so very much for this thought -provoking video. I lived and worked in Japan for four years. The 'brain-freeze' phenomenum among Japanese folks when they face a non-Japanese speaking fluent Japanese is frustrating. This would make a great PhD. dissertation study. With soooooo many gaijin on Japanese t.v. programs and now teaching in all Japanese schools through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET), there doesn't seem to be an excuse for this kind of reaction. Oh well, I guess we must be patient...but again, it is frustrating and almost unbelievable that this still happens in 2024!
Japanese doenst look like anime that the fact and only anime with small eyes and black hair is japanese .the rest and all main character looks like western and Caucasian
Ive always found with ghibli films is the reason there are more “white” people is because a lot of Miyazaki’s and ghibli’s stories are set in a European or European inspired setting with some exceptions like spirited away and princess mononoke the later of which is predominantly Japanese characters.
It's strange to describe Japan, Korea, and China as ethnically homogeneous countries. Especially China, which tries to represent itself as all Han people, but os actually comprised of Mongols, Manchurians, Tibetans, Uighurs, Hmong, and a hundred other ethnic groups. Even Japan has Yamato people, Ainu people, Ryukyuan people, etc. These countries are far more diverse than they think of themselves as being, even before immigrant communities factor into the conversation.
I wonder if Afro-Cubans and Afro-Ricans experience this sort of thing....probably not because everyone knows the history there...maybe more people need to see Seijun Suzuki movies?
Japanese people hate it when they are mistaken for Chinese people. As to English being talked to them, they learn the language in school from the age of 12, so it is not completely foreign to them.
Well, I can tell you that in western media, despite the presence of "White-presenting" individuals, the media overtly, arbitrarily, and casually denigrates White people, especially those who aren't within the upper class. Jesus was not white or European, he was a 1st century Nazarene jew, he was most likely brown/bronze skinned and had a drastically different phenotype than the modern day Ashkenazim who are more genetically eastern european due to historical factors, the popular presentation of Jesus as having European features is a result of the human tendency to present their God as ourselves in likeness, this phenomena happens in multiple cultures, the thing is that the Europeans were the largest spreaders of Christianity so they ended up spreading and propagating THEIR OWN representation of God in the places they converted/colonized, in other societies and cultures that had a more natural adoption/introduction of Christianity they represented Jesus in their own likeness as it is common for humans to do look at the Ethiopian Jesus, that's besides the fact that making any likeness or graven image of God is sin and it is clearly stated in the Bible as the 1st of the 10 commandments, so drawing Jesus as any race or anything in general is WRONG european or not, it's also the reason why the disciples never erected any statues of Jesus or drew him to put in temples despite the fact that they knew he was the Son of God and revered him as such
