The PNW is full of resourceful fishing areas and If you live near any bodies of water you can take these tips along with you and have the Upperhand on targeting whatever it may be ! I am not a Pro by all means . but I know what works for me and hopefully it can work for you to!
I used this same technique back a few decades ago right there in Ellensburg on the Yakima river. Even bought my flies and maggots at Bi-Mart. I used speedometer cable as my weight as it is super slinky and rarely snags. The first year I went out it was cold, icy and I caught about a dozen whitefish quite easily. Next year, similar conditions, same spot on the river and caught nothing but trout, about 8 of them all released but nary a whitefish. It was interesting and a lot of fun but I've not done it again since then. My thoughts are starting to turn to Lake Whitefish instead. Enjoyed your video, better luck next time for the whitefish.
Great information! Just moved to Missoula for school this fall and am learning how to fish these mountain rivers. Want to catch some whitefish so I’ll definitely be giving this tactic a shot!
Quick question. Is it legal to fish stimulator nymph above your other nymph? And if it's legal to use two flies on same line, would it be effective to use egg pattern with a nymph
You know , I believe they might have either ran out or did the wrong advertising lol , I have hers from other people they have been getting different lines from 35-30lb , weird lol
Awesome video! Totally trying that!! I wonder what would happen if you slapped a weighted sculpin or crawfish streamer under a float? Big trout eat lot of those on the yak.
