Good video. I am from Montenegro myself and at the time this was a thing I was too young to understand and by the time i got old enough no one was talking about it. Thank you for spreading awerness
Montenegro is heading to a good future, but the corrupted government and political dose do not let their country show their highest capabilities. Good luck to Montenegro from Albania 🇦🇱❤️🇲🇪
Europes most untouched landscape... until China arrived. Did they even need a highway for 600.000 inhabitants? (Most of them living in the capital anyways I guess.) Well maintained normal road would have done the job.
And tell me, how exactly would the chinese government enforce seizing the territory? I don't think anyone would allow China to have an exclave in Europe
Montenegro has only a million people, and its small. It would be better if they united with serbia for economic growth. Because most of their land is mountains. Which is bad for economic growth. This is why any big project will 100% get them in debt.
@@AMDFan-s1y Well you see, Montenegro's goal for the future is to become some kind of Adriatic Singapore. We're a small country that can make huge benefits from sea trade and also tourism
@@ussarman8922 yes yes.. but you don't realize that the Adriatic isn't as busy as the strait of Malacca. The strait of Malacca is more important than the Adriatic sea. Also Montenegro has corrupt officials and most of it's land is mountains, and Montenegro isn't located at the entrance of the Adriatic, Albania is. And people don't care about Montenegro..
Not really majority of trafic and tourist come from northern route not from adriatic one. 70% of tourist that come to Crna Gora are from Serbia. So thats the reason why they need northern route built first
instead of connecting to Serbia, there would be much more benefit in connecting Monte Negro to Bosnia/Croatia and Albania. This would have a bigger positive impact on Monte Negro itself. This highway now only serve to Belgrade.
lol no, conecting to Serbia literly gives it logistic to export anywhere in the balkans or central europe while also conecting Montenegro to its bigest tradeing partner, automaticly montenegros importance as logistic country and they can use thet to build more ifrustructure like docks, trains, highways etc, theres tons of Montenegros here in Serbia and vice versa, building to albenia or bosnia brings nothing considoring theres no trade going from albenia to bosnia cuz no ones thet stupid to ship something to albenistan so they can move it to rest of the europe or transport to albenia to ship to the rest of the world, the highway they build to Serbia already payed for itself and now is makeing profit
There is since 60s thing call Adriatic highway which goes just besides Adriatic sea as was connecting Yugoslav republics by the sea from Slovenia all the way 2 Albanian border ,but its not real highway buy 2 line road but does its job.But 2 line road is no problem ,problem is borders since desintegration off Yugoslavia ,in summer you will spend more time waiting on borders with km lines then actually driving
Serbia is one of most important spots from road (and train) perspective in the Balkans, as most important roads which connect different part of Balkans and region with other regions pass threw Serbia. As such, good connection of Montenegro with Serbia is of biggest importance for them, as that will enable them better (and more capable) connection with rest of region in first place, and regions outside Balkans.
TLDR: A state owned construction company in People Republic of China bribed Montenegrin officials for building about a 400 km long highway in Montenegro, as a part of Belts and Roads Initiative. It's a literal white elephant. Montenegro came under immense debt by it. Natural beauties are demolished. No tangible or intengible benefits so far, and only 41 km of it is built so far. Debt trap diplomacy at its worst!
That highway at most will be around 160km in lenght so where did you manange to find the rest? Montenegro is not that big. They came under debt because of Covid19 after a few very bad tourist seasons (country lives from tourism mostly) and if you have ever passed trough Montenegro from Serbian border you would know how nice it is to even have those 41km completed. I really hope they manage to do the rest because it means a lot to both Montenegro and Serbia and it will pay off for sure in the future.
Btw to be totally honest, if they actually make road to border with Serbia, then it will actually pay off. I'm from Serbia, and we already made new highway that cover whole western part of the country stretching all the way to Monte Negro border. As a kid I went to sea side in Montenegro multiple times via car with my parents, and that travel was tough at best. Those mountains are really dangerous, and it's not an easy ride no matter how you look at that. But when highway is completed I'll gladly go to Montenegro again with bus, car or bike instead of train which has it's own issues. So that's the actual plan of Montenegro, they expect traffic from Serbia to pay for this project, and chances are that they will get it, especially if they join Open Balkan ;)
No, it won't. Belt and Road Inıtiative was never meant to make countries prosper, including People Republic of China. Xi and his cronies use CCP to control PRC, and PRC owned companies bribe foreign leaders in order to make their countries to go into immense debt. In return Xi, his cronies and some foreign leaders get rich, and CCP gets critical infrastructure from those indebted countries. This is called debt trap diplomacy. And Xi is using it ruthlessly. At least he was, until PRC's economy started to collapse. Google: Hambantota International Port
There will be no open Balkans as Kosovo will ask for war crime compensation and serbia will refuse it We in Albania 🇦🇱 do back the freedom of every nation and specifically Kosovo 🇽🇰 as we're same tradition and language
@@afrimbahiti9855 If I may ask, what is the meaning of these numbers in your username? "9855"? Are you a bot by any chance, since it seems that all bots have these numbers after username 😅Or is it a burner account and you couldn't bother? 😂
Great video. I'm sure those 90s were very peacefull. I see you took some feedback to heart and made this easier to hear with less background music. Loving the content!
Just found your Channel! Im very impressed with your production quality! what a great contrast in a sea of trash AI video dumps... i hope you will get lots of views in the coming time :*
No new nations emerged from the soviet union. They were already there. That is like saying the Jewish nation before the balfour declaration did not exist and the Kurds do not exist to this day. Talk about being ignorant. There is a sharp distinction between a country and a nation.
Well to be fair the modern concept of nation states is pretty new. I guess you could consider the 1 year Belarus had as an independent nation to be it's defining factor, but considering they don't even speak, write, read or really do anything "Belarusian", and they're mostly known as that one funny piss poor still existing Soviet State is basically it. They had their chance. They decided to be part of Russia in all aspects.
Russia is the biggest import/export partner of Belarus and this is 2021 data. Also, Let's not forget about shared history and cultural ties between two countries.
why would you show Crimea as russian on the map? its annexation has the same legitimacy as 2022 annexations, which is 0. first occupation, then some referenda to create an image. de-jure nothing has changed
Russia has 0 legitimacy when claiming crimea, anyway. Referendum under occupation is worth absolutely nothing. If they want to have claim to Crimea they need to give Ukraine nukes, because that treaty was not only about Russua giving Crimea to Ukraine. It was 2-side treaty so wothdrawing from it should work 2-way as well.
