It felt so good to build together again! Originally Swen and I intended to build the Aula Palatina (Constantine's Basilica) as well as part of the same timelapse, but we delayed the basilica alongside the adapted cloister to a future collab session, which will probably get its own timelapse along with the castle.
there isnt much a handfull of minecraft builder nerds can do to help the ukrainian people, so we did the only thing we know how to do: we build something we thought represented ukraine to voice our collective disapprovel of the unjust war waged upon a brave people by Putin! on a personal note: i dedicate my participation in this build to my friends in Ukraine and Russia: WhiteRa, Meldarion and Mori, ZloYxp, Splesh, Alisa, Maha (and their respective families) #SlavaUkraini #FCKPTN
It's kind of a mix of all sorts of things, based primarily on the Basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna, but with a lot of other inspirations mixed in, especially the old one that this replaced, which was in turn based primarily on the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Colours are mostly our original taste; the purpur and white palette is used throughout the Boukoleon complex. The decision to make the entrance bay its own square vault was influenced by the Palatine Chapel of Aachen.
Hey man. Just watched a bunch of your videos. Amazing work. Would love to see some more churches, preferably byzantine/orthodox ones. The Serbian one was absolutely splendid!!
when i first joined DEMESNECRAFT some 2 years ago this town was nothing but a few lonely buildings, a lot of empty plots and an idea... now it truely is a communal buzzling town that perfectly showcases our combined efforts and the individual styles and strengths of all members!
