Really helpful your vids on fishing marks Graham .. there’s that many up our north east coast I forget the names of half of them .. thanks mate .. nice that you took the time to do it 👍🏻
Have another go over from now onwards mate, deffo worth a shout for the rays. I’ve just been this week. Had 4 good thorn backs and a few dog fish. All caught at distance on fish baits. I’ll put the pics on one of the facebook pages when I get chance. Deffo have another crack at it though mate. Keep vids coming, they keep me sane when I stuck on house at times…👍
Thanks mate, I can't wait. I know the lads are out for smoothies. This weekend wish I could go but my holidays are just around the corner and saving the pennies. Well done on your fish mate
Welcome back mate, beautiful footage from a very bonny part of the world. Least you all give it your best shot, I've found that part of the coast fishes best in July, August and September when the bait fish and mackeral arrive especially during darkness on the very big spring tides. Maybe try the Mull of Galloway next time there's something there for everyone and you have the option of fishing the west side or east side depending on how bad the weather turns. Keep em coming always a great watch tight lines.
Unlucky mate they look like winter marks if ya ask me but its still nice to get out and try them marks by the way ya pic quality is crystal clear duno what you changed but top notch 👌🏻🎣
Great effort mate, always a good watch and good craic. I will be at that last mark this time next month so hopefully it will have picked up! Thanks for sharing
Planning on heading there this weekend from Shields way... Not 100% sure of location of the flat rock, not fished there before, is there anyone could help me out? I've found maps showing the bay and the point, but none show the flat rock location.
Just follow the path from the car park up over the farmers fields get to the top go right, you can follow the well beaten path and there is a tall wooden post at the top of the mark. I doubt you will be the only ones there so should find it easy enough.
Your right about the mud. From the prom (where you were fishing) all the way north is thick, claggy mud. Need to keep of it. However, from the harbour entrance (to your left} and southwards, is all firm sand. This is the side for rays, flatties and hounds. Fish it from (or an hour before) low water, up to just before mid tide. Then move up to the prom to the spot you were fishing, for the same species. Not giving away any secrets here. It's common knowledge for us locals. Tight lines!
Great effort bud. Long way to travel. Good little reconasance trip though, looked good for the summer. Must get myself over there. Thanks for sharing . Take care 😊
You’re right about the cold. I always feel coldest fishing in late February and March at the scragg end of the winter cod season. Hoping the flounder start showing on the North East coast soon but this cold weather seems to be dragging on and on.
A cracking session on the thornies everyone. Well done for soldiering on its hard when you're breathings affected and you're weakened, great 10lb fish and a good bag though didn't stop you, well done great watch and future tight lines
Well done Sid. That Man Flu is lethal! You were like a fishing commando powering through it. The last time I fished Balcary it was freezing, blowing a gale and I caught Dabs! Sometimes if the walk doesn't kill you the fishing does. Great vid. Take care bud.
@@grahamsidney9214 yer the walk there’s always easier ha , found walking to the point a lot better the fishing I about the same but uncomfortable fishing , jaggered rocks what you are fishing off
I am so happy for you . Great stuff mate .The smile on your face said it all . I am out on Friday evening into dark and hope to have my first Ray . My son is coming with me and we havent fished for over two years so looking forwards to it .
