My wife and I, from the UK, have travelled to 3 cities around Europe just to see DakhaBrakha. "Baby" is our goto track to remember those visits. This was beautiful. Thank you Tautumeitas and Shipsea for another, just as moving version.XX
Horrific. Watch the real band perform (their KEXP performance on YT). This attempt made me sad. Stay away from masterpieces if you don’t have the talent to bring it.
I think you're being too hard on them. First, in my opinion, as an avid fan of Dakha Brakha for several years now (enough so that I went to some expense and effort to travel to watch them give an amazing live performance in Chicago this past April), and as a singer and musician myself, I think this was a decent and heartfelt cover of the original. In particular, I found the women's vocal performance moving. Also, from what I've gathered by looking at some of the links provided with this video, this performance was part of a concert at The Zuzeum, a museum in Latvia, to express solidarity with Ukraine.
