My wife would have loved the fireworks! Once again your trip proves you don't have to go far to have a great adventure. Luckily you had a dry night so a bivvy bag worked well. I still think I prefer a tent but like the speed and simplicity of a bivvy. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Must be a great bike if you are wearing Rims out ...... You must enjoy it a lot .... going into depth about it so much ...... I have one and i love them
Great video. I always take my trangia as it's so peaceful. I've cycled the pier to pier from Weston to Clevedon then yatton. Bit busier coming out of Weston than i thought it would be but it was ok on the Brompton. Either this week or in 2 weeks i'm planning to camp near brean but on a campsite. looking forward to seeing the sea and watching the sun set 🙂
Great adventure lovely spot to camp. Got to love the simplicity of a trangia and bivi. Glad the weather was kind to. Thanks for taking the time to film. All the best Pete 🚴
Frankly i wouldnt care even if i got punctures every other week with the contact urbans, they are so easy to seat and unseat from the rim that changing them is a joy, i will never destroy my fingertips trying to mess about with the nasty metal bead on the marathon pluses
Thanks for this video. Can I ask what the weight of the contents of the saddlepack are and how wobbly it gets when riding? I'm considering the Topeak 15l for my Brompton, too.
Hi hello Mr Terry, may I have your great guidance please. Currently I am using 52t and whenever I uphill I need to dismount and push all the way up. And I did not even use any highest gear ever. I been using the gear 3 or max is gear 4. My question is, is 44t chainring or 39t best? Some say 39t will be very slow and your feet will spinning like hamster on the wheel. How about 44t like yours? Would it be fast and easy paddle. Or is very slow?
You sound just like me when I had my first Bromine. I m sure you’d find a 44t makes the bike much better for you, I’ve just gone down to 40 and it is great for me
@@terrysallbikes That is why I very confuse on should I change to 44t or straight away down to 39t. I read almost over thousands of comments written by so many viewer. Many said they change from 50t down to 44t but regretted and again down to 39t.
@@snowy2875 not for me, I still don’t use 6th gear often and I still have to push on very steep hills but the bike is much more fun to ride, I average around 10mph when touring with a loaded bike
@@terrysallbikes Yeah exactly that is me, I very often need to dismount from my bicycle and push all the way up to hill. And I also did not use any highest gear. Mostly stick to the lowest gear or second lowest gear for sight seeing or touring around the city.
Hi, Terry. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Continental Contact Urban tires - very much appreciated since you've had a very good amount of experience with them over many miles. Great channel - liked and subscribed. I just became a new Brompton owner last week and am every excited about using it for touring. I also found your Facebook group. It's an excellent group and thank you for that, too. Cheers!
I can understand that it’s not unique to females to feel that way,. The way I look at it is that the kind of people we want to avoid aren’t likely to wondering around the countryside in the night , very title of interest to them there
I'm not an expert but I'd guess not being noticed is the first aim. Along these lines I think bright coloured tents or 'blingy' bikes and bright lights are best avoided. I've seen a video account of a wild camper who had a dog walker stop and chat. They told the camper they knew someone was nearby when they smelt bacon cooking.🤭 Well done Terry, I hope it encourages more to try it; You planned camp looks in a lovely spot. Thanks for the video.
hey Terry, you insprired me to my first wildcamp, on this hill at the end of my trip through Wales. before returning to London to catch my train, I decided to follow the Strawberry line and the Cheddar Gorge (unfortunately the road there was closed for a few days), did not have this spectacular weather with sunset, but nice enough and very windy at night... Thanks for this inspiration and all your videos!
My dear lady, Kms originated in France during the late 18th century ~ hence you, yourself, would appear to be 300 years behind the times. Besides, Can you imagine the Who singing ‘I can see for kilometres and kilometres,’ or the Proclaimers roaring chorus of ‘But I would walk 500 kilometres’?
I've never been but an ex-colleague had a relation on the islands and loved it there. His wife had a bad experience with the ferry due to the rough seas so he then used a helicopter flight from Penzance. I don't think it was cheap but he only had to chip in for the food for his two week holiday. I remember one year he had two weeks of rain. Most other times he came back with a tan.
It’s a beautiful place reminds me the Greek islands when the sun is shining. But yes, it’s relatively difficult and expensive to get to. Our ferry crossings were good but we did meet some people with bad experiences, a new ferry starting soon and that may improve the experience
I can get 100 miles on my e bike. 48 volt 24amp battery 250 watt. Fat tyred folding bike and british company with Chinese parts from a reputable Chinese factory that does everything in one factory unlike some chinese factories who do one thing then get other parts from other factories. You're not knowing then if they all have the best workmanship involved. The owner of the company I got my bike from visited the factory to make sure he would be getting the best parts and the best workmanship involved.
That was brilliant Terry. I can remember me and my friends years ago cycling Dundry hill and hurtling down the other side to Chew magna. Used to cycle around that area regularly but not to where you went. Awesome views.👍
Nice one Terry, lovely views and not far away. The tent really blends in with the landscape, great for stealth camping. I follow 'Andy's Adventures' and I enjoy films of his camping trips. Recently some rotter stole his bike, not while camping but on a train! Hoping he gets another and continues camping and filming. At least you can fold the Brompton and keep it near you. I'm guessing the Brompton is all nicely bedded in after it's major overall. If you make a film about wild camping perhaps you could cover getting discovered and moved on? It would be something that worries me. Thanks for sharing your short trip.
Hi, I also follow Andy and am aware of his bike theft. Better security was one of the reasons I changed to the Brompton. I’ve never been moved on when wild camping so no experience with that however I’ll cover why I think that is
Thanks for sharing this with us Terry, the sunrise in particular was worth waiting for, wow! I’ll be interested to watch the next one as I do have concerns which prevent me camping wild. I love to tour alone but I enjoy getting to a campsite each evening where I feel safe. My favourite campsites are the little ones - a small paddock or field behind a village pub or farm with facilities. Anyway, looking forward to your next one!
Yep. The top 4 gears are overkill, not to mention the bottom 4 are too. 90% of the time gears 5-8 is all most anybody would need, but it sure must be nice to have that extra range available just in case.
Obviously depends how strong a rider you are and what kind of loads you’re carrying. Love the bike but for me for touring would definitely be going 44t chainring!
