I have a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28. I just built a Chevrolet Small Block GM Goodwrench 350 Crate Motor with all brand new parts from Summit Racing Equipment. SUM-180380P Summit Racing Performance Connecting Rods, HED-68460 Hedman Street Headers, SES-3480002050 Summit Racing Chevy 350 Engine Kit Pro Pack, SCA-910442 Scat Cast Crankshaft, FEL-260-1000 Fel-Pro Engine Gasket Kits, SUM-226061 Summit Racing Cast Aluminum Intake, SUM-G2972 Summit Racing White Face Mechanical Analog Gauge Kit, SUM-K1103 Summit Racing Classic Cam and Lifter Kit, SES-3-60-11 -100 Summit Racing Sealant Kit, CLE-CB663P Clevite P-Series Rod Bearings, SLP-1235M Sealed Power Cam Bearings, SUM-G1581 Summit Racing Freeze Plugs, SES-3-60-08-001 Summit Racing Oil Pump and Pick Up Kit, UEM-1436-STD Silv-O-Lite Cast Pistons, SLP-E-251K Sealed Power Performance Piston Ring Set, SUM-G6600R-9 Summit Racing True Roller Timing Set. Grand Total with tax $1,790.51 I'm running an Edelbrock model 1406 4 Bbl carburetor, HEI spark plugs, Edelbrock High Performance HEI 90° spark plug wires, metal fuel filter, brand new wiper motor, wiper switch, hazard warning switch, combination switch, (all switches inside the steering column has been replaced) I pretty much have her all buttoned up. I need a 3" custom exhaust system fabricated to fit the headers on my Camaro. I deleted the air conditioner, the cruise control, the emissions charcoal canister, the harnest of wires inside the front passenger side fender, I snipped all of those. This car sounds really good with just these 3" Hedman Headers, no catalytic converters, no exhaust system and no mufflers. I have red LED lights in my instrument cluster panel. I have a lambo door kit that I'm gonna install. www.carlambodoors.com I also installed a Hyper Wing on the back from www.ebaymotors.com My blackout kit is from www.eBay motors.com I hope that this valuable information is very useful to someone in this thread.
Cool! I have a 1967 Chevelle that I've owned for 24 years. It was built the same week I was born. I also race dirt track. IMCA stock car and Wisconsin Grand National
I did that to 2 saginaws in a month. They don't like being speed shifted with any power. Handled the 305 just fine but the new 355 was too much. Car sounds great by the way!
What is your stall rated for? Did you use a wave in tge intermediate clutch pack? How good does it hit second? I usually drill second and third out to 3/16, but that is probably overkill.
With it being a stick shift you're not able to do a proper burn out to heat up the tires... I think if it were an automatic your outcome would be a bit better at the track.. good videos though 👌
So will a fourth gen rear end fit in without any mods to how it mounts? I know you said it was longer, but will it still bolt into the same locations and not need custom brackets? I’m new to Camaros sorry😅
I think it was this one: www.amazon.com/GESEXI-302-2-Aluminum-Compatible-1964-1992/dp/B0BPNZ1N2H/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=302-2%2Boil%2Bpan&qid=1694573408&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
You guys are rednecks for sure... you're supposed to push on that u-shaped clip from the closed end of the U to release it. That should have been step 1. Then unscrew the metal fuel line from the filter. NOT unscrew the filter from the metal line while the plastic line is still connected on the other end. Sound like Canucks...
I know it’s been some time since this has been done but is there any way you could post a link to every thing you got for the manual swap.? I have a 79 with an auto and looking to pick up a Muncie 4 speed
I honestly don't remember everything we used for it and we don't have any of those parts anymore. I thing the only things we really needed for it was a clutch (mc-leod) a clutch and brake pedal assembly and a Z bar linkage. The car never had a center console but you would probably need a manual center console. We used some ebay headers for a manual second gen, factory cross member and motor mounts. You would need to find a drive shaft that was the right length, don't remember what the correct length is, probably because the one we got was too short and it wound up blowing out the tail shaft seal. Everything bolted together pretty easily. These cars came from the factory with the 4 speed manuals so it wasn't too terrible and the parts were pretty easy to get. Putting the T-5 in... now that was interesting.
It was one like this looks like they are way more expensive now. www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Torque-Racing-Starter-Chevy/dp/B0927KVH7P/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2W0SY9HS2IIHB&keywords=small+block+chevy+starter&qid=1687391544&s=automotive&sprefix=small+block+chevy+starte%2Cautomotive%2C123&sr=1-3
Great stuff guy's! That thing is gonna be a beast! Can't wait to see it get turboed and go up against the camaro! Sweet build! Love the overhead gage Start up cluster, mint! BTW, I dig the trump flag in the background, haha👍💯
We changed the pump because the oil pressure was low. About 20 psi at idle, and would never go above 40 psi. Now it idles at 30 and tops out at 70 at 6,000 rpm
I would recommend the ATSG books for assembly as they're great for when you don't know where to start on re-assembly and has all the clearances listed, common failure areas, just lots of good info to go on.. i've built 4 autos using them and ive never had a problem
