Tucker Carlson: "What is a barrel shroud"? Lawmaker who proposed a law banning barrel shrouds: "I don't know what a barrel shroud is. I think it's the thing that goes up."
Oh. The reason it is never single action is the hammer never locks back. But like a single action, the slide must be racked to load that first round. What happens if the slide is returned, and a new magazine inserted, and then the trigger pulled? Just a dry fire?

I love how this animation properly shows the trigger reset. Most animations have the trigger return under spring pressure as if you took your finger off right after firing. This isn't how it works in reality. Thank you! Beautiful job.
Best video of this yet, especially the part with the connector and trigger reset. I finally get it: the slide needs to disengage the connector because the firing pin needs to re-captured before the user has let go of the trigger: it happens too fast. Without that, you'd have to let go of the trigger past the reset before the slide finished cycling, otherwise the firing pin would fail to be captured by the trigger and reset.
Beautifully explained. I wanted to see this also even though I basically understood how the disconnect tab on the slide worked to push the the connector off of the trigger bar. Such a brilliant but simple design. Also makes it clear how the G18 switch works as well, acting like a secondary sear disconnector as long as the trigger is depressed.
lol i have this same handgun, but its chambered in 9MM. for some reason, the magazine wont lock unless you either fully chamber a round, or barely pull the slide back about a 1/4 inch to reset the trigger -but not enough to fully chamber a round. it took me months to figure this out just so I can EDC with a full magazine and nothing in the chamber. they dont even mention this in the Springfield owner's manual at all... thanks for the video!!!!
I saw another video that confirms it's really cheap to make guns, especially once all the engineering has been done. Then it's basically a profit cash cow. Which should tell us just how much SIG is currently ripping off the consumers - but then again - demand and supply applies.
It’s so simple, which makes it so affective. The less moving parts the better. It’s crazy to think that this could have been invented at any point that we had metal. Or at least something similar. This is just fireworks in Springs. And it’s insane how long the springs remain functional. Basically requires metallurgy and explosives.
Really random thought but theoretically would it be possible to design a bullpup with a recoil stability system like in the ak107 to allow basically zero recoil?
Very good presentation. While I’m a Certified Glock Armorer, the only Glocks I work on are my own. It’s a serious endeavor, but just a hobby for me. Your video helps a great deal to understand the functionality of the parts.
Good morning master mechanic, I really admire your work, it's brilliant, I would like you to make an art explaining how the 3-shot burst of the OTs33 Pernach DROTIK pistol works, please"
Ive watched so many "how does ... work" videos and this BY FAR has been the cleanest, clearest, most informative, comprehendable video ive seen thus far. 5⭐'s
Thank you for this video. Extremely informative. I'm a visual learner, so the sliced view of all of the components was a game-changer. And having it as a video and not just pictures makes it even easier to understand. I appreciate your efforts.
Outstanding content. I agree with @Steve Aronson from 4 years ago - best I've seen on the net. Thank you for taking the time to put this content together and for sharing it with others.
I'm the type that watches something operate for a few minutes while simultaneously imagining in my head how it functions internally. More times than not when I disassemble the object it is on point with what I imagined having no experience beforehand.
Absolutely would not buy this holster because I had to sit through a 2-minute ad with no option to skip just to watch the video I needed to watch for work. Forced ads = instant no-sale.
use an ad blocker....save you time, saves you money and it's free. Or go the whole hog and install a pi-hole over which you have full control and do not have to worry about intrusive rights being granted to some blocker software - if you know what a pi-hole is.
