I don't know about the new 'Hat AI' but this should be adaptable to local. I think you'd really just need to change the pipeline to use in the blueprint configuration. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
I'm not sure but certainly interested in hearing your results if you try it out. I did look at the Lenovo Smart Clock a bit and it seems like it can sideload apps. If you can get Wallpanel or Fully Kiosk on it and one of the microphone programs then it will probably work. Come see us on Discord to discuss.
I have one of the Lenovo Smart clocks setup with the HA companion app and it works really well. Swipe navigation helps navigate the dashboard and the wall panel add on allows me to setup a screensaver with any art I want. The setup is a little weird but there's videos here that show you how. I think the fully kiosk browser would work as well.
So I flashed about 10 times following the directions and had no errors, after i wiped the data and all rebooted and went through the language settings, WIFI and bam! took me back to the sign in to Teams screen 😮💨 What I'm I doing wrong? any clues?🥺
Yep. The A11 ROM (this one) has problems with WIFI. I updated the description a few weeks ago to suggest folks use Lineage (A8.1) with the guide. I have not recorded a video but that ROM is much better. It was only released a few weeks ago but has proven to be reliable.
When I click on the Discord link, I get a message that says: Invite Invalid, this invite may be expired or you may not have permission to join. Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. I really like what is being done with this project. I have ordered two or the ThinkSmart Views so hopefully I can get them running. Thanks again.
Hey Greg thanks for the kind words. I sure thought I had made these nonexpiring but I guess not. I've updated this video and will update the other places too. I hope to see you on Discord soon.
Absolutely. I've got three tablets connected and we have users that have even more. The HA server is still doing the wakeword processing so not sure how many can be added in your particular instance. It will depend on the power of your server is what I am meaning.
@@homeautomationstation Thank you. I have followed your video, Now it's working. But the mic is automatic turn off after restart device. Can we change it to automatic turn on for default?
I really don't know why but when I start the server, video goes upside down. I'm trying to disable rotation and other settings but nothing seems working
I see this too. I don't know a solution but because I don't interact with the application it doesn't bother me. Interested if you do find a solution but know that this behavior appears to be common when in landscape mode.
@@homeautomationstation video preferences, video orientation, choose "up and down". Maybe it is slightly different as I have italian as my language, but have a look. p.s. lenovo thinkpad view is amazing! I'm playing with it now
@@homeautomationstation video, video orientation, upside down. This will not solve for the interface, but then you will get the video feed correctly in Home assistant (and use it as a camera)
I don't have an viewassist group, what group should I create or how to find the correct group for the configuration? I can't create the clock view because of wrong variables
Hey there. Sounds like you skipped a step somewhere. VA group is created/configured at the same time as the VA device config. See that video. Come to discord and we can help you there too.
Join our discord server if you can. We have a channel for ThinkSmart View discussions. There's a new ROM out that is better than this one so you will probably want to use that instead. I will film another video but have not had a chance to. The new ROM came out last week and it is much better
It's not just you. Wallpanel media playback does not work. I haven't gotten it to work on any device. I think the media playback feature is broken. If I'm wrong about that, please tell me how you got it to work. Otherwise I guess I'll have to buy a Fully Kiosk Plus license for my panels.
Hey there. I posted an update in the description saying: "NOTE: In the video I had problems hearing the audio. This was resolved by restarting the tablet. Also ensure that the tablet volume is set to a good level. Also, anytime you see the 'Browser Mod' text at the bottom right of the tablet screen you must click the screen anywhere to enable control. You will note that the text goes away when control is enabled." I have used Browsermod on four different devices and they all work for media player devices. The only time I had an issue was with Android 8.1 on the Thinsmart device but that ROM could not play sound through the browser for RU-vid or any other service browsermod included. Hope that helps! Find us on Discord if you need further assistance.
@@homeautomationstation Thanks for the suggestions, but to be clear, I never said Browsermod media playback didn't work. It works great with Fully Kiosk and other browsers. I have not yet gotten Browsermod media playback to work when using Wallpanel as the browser. I do see the Browsermod icon come up and I tap it. Other functions of Browsermod work in Wallpanel, like popups and whatnot, but media playback just stays silent and if you look at the media player entity in home assistant it says it's playing media but never returns to a stopped state unless I unregister the browser or restart home assistant. Again, the only common denominator in this issue is Wallpanel. Browsermod works perfectly with other browsers including Fully Kiosk. I will state that the only tablets I've run it on are Amazon HD 8 and HD10, and some old Lenovo tablets. It could well be a compatibility problem there. Thanks for the attempt to help though, and keep up the good work on the videos. They have been very helpful.
You aren't the first to report this and I'm not sure why this is happening. Some have reported going to appmirror to download. I do not know this site well enough to advise so use caution if you go that route.
You should be able to control this by changing the BrowserMod configuration that says 'show sidebar'. This MIGHT happen even if you didn't toggle this on. If you didn't, try toggling it on and then back off. I will revisit BM in another video focused on the daskboard/view control. This initial BM video is really focused on exposing the media_player device for audio playback. Let me know if you are still having trouble and I'll try and help more. You can also join the VA Discord if you want more realtime help. Thanks for your interest in VA
And thank you for the kind words. I am trying to be thorough in documenting all steps needed for getting the View Assist system going. My goal is to get the information out there and move on to the next topic rather than creating some well polished YT videos. This comment makes me think the approach is working.
The problems I have had are seen during boot/reboot. The device is pretty solid otherwise. See the wiki for tips on how best to work around these issues. That said, the device can be challenging. I hope to eventually find a new ROM but for now this is the best one I've used.
thank you very much. flashing worked well, but I got a view problems: 1. which applications did you install and what to do with them? 2. After I did lunch android 11, I can not go back to screen. I see only a black screen. What to do? Do I need some settings/tweaks? 3. what you men with turning on wifi while booting. how is it possible? 4. How to set up wake up correctly? a part 3 would be really helpful :)
Hey there. I'm not sure I understand. Are you able to use the tablet at all? 1. Are you asking about View Assist? If so, check out the other videos on this channel and the ones I will be releasing. I am short on time at the moment but I plan to get a bunch of videos out in the next few weeks when things slow down for me. 2. Don't understand 3. You can change a setting that will allow you to turn off WIFI on boot for a SSID (see this page at the very bottom github.com/dinki/View-Assist/wiki/Find-IP-of-Android-device/) 4. Wake up of the tablet or wakeword ? If you are referring to what happens when the screen goes idle, you can flip the camera switch on the side of the tablet to act like a power button on a typical Android device. Hope this helps
How did you find a signed driver? For anyone else who gets the Yellow ! on Windows 11 (and if you right click the driver you see driver is not signed). If you goto: Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Recovery > Next to Advanced Startup Click "Restart Now" Then you'll boot into Windows pre-boot environment. Select advanced Startup and restart. You'll then boot into the Advanced startup and you can select the option (mine was 7) for "disable device driver signature enforcement"
Great question. It's actually the browsermod extension that exposes the media player device. That's the next video to come. I'm hoping to film it and post it next week
Thanks. I am building out the wiki and recording YT videos as guides as well. Hoping to have the core steps in place in the coming weeks then on to adding more functionality
Can you make a video showing the process of installing everything? In the home assistant part because it's the most tricky one. I have a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W that I use as microphone and I'm not sure if it can be integrated with this
yeah i have a pie with a touch screen this would be perfect for! he posted the github in the comments. Looks like the intent script calls a custom card that fully kiosk would use. Use the voice to display a card in fully kiosk is how it works i think
Fantastic work, you've done something exceptional here! It would be great if you were able to include subtitles showing what voice assist is saying for those of us who are hearing impaired too :)
@@homeautomationstationThank you so much! I'll be following your progress with great enthusiasm in the hope I'll be able to make my own version from your github. Voice is brilliant, but no good on its own for those with hearing loss. I look forward to your progress greatly!
