Is there a better quality porcelain toilet for hard water from a well thank you i’ve had a couple different toilets and stains just seems to build up on the rim and on the bottom I use vitamin C to clean the toilet, but I was wondering if there was a better porcelain
I replaced all four of my toilets with the Toto Carlisle II one piece, elongated, comfort height, skirted, dual cyclone action 1.28 gallon version and I think it’s the greatest normally priced toilet available on planet earth. This is after hours of research and now after years of use. Of course, the price has doubled since I bought mine, I would say, save up and get one. Worth it at any price, IMO.
I'm still not convinced that any low flow toilet is capable of actually moving everything down the pipes though, and the bowl is just atrocious on most of them. I just installed a toilet from 1950 in my bathroom and I've it's been pretty nice so far!
Just curious about the flush technology in each and the classification of each .. seems 1.6 gal flush is a bit more than 1.28G so the American Standard had an unfair advantage,, Lets see it in a fair fight ??
This was actually the best toilet test I’ve seen. I’m in the market for several toilets and these are exactly the things I care about. Problem is you can’t “test” the toilets in the store without getting kicked out. Ask me how I know.
I dropped a log today that I guarantee would not make it through any of those toilets. It was a thing of beauty. I sat there a minute or so just to admire it.
I have an AS Cadet Pro. It sucks! Does not work as advertised and does not clean the bowl well. Had it about a year or so; it’s getting replaced soon. Anyone want a free AS Cadet Pro?
American Standard is the Shit specially their Chamion series. Every 9 months you got to take out the whole tank to replace the parts for leaks. The beauty of this toilet is that neither the HD or Lowes carries the parts.
I don't poop sponges or wet cherios. My turd just flat out sticks to the bowl, and laughs at me trying to flush it down. And yes, the turd is almost always completely underwater. Doesn't matter. At this point, I'm almost ready to go poop in the back yard next to the dog's, and just pick them all up and throw them in the garbage, instead of flushing the human waste.
We own an American Standard Cadet and I have been very impressed with how well it performs. Growing up we had some no name brand toilet that flushed with 3.8L and it was so poorly designed. It almost always took 2 flushes to clear a #2 and almost anything would clog it up.
I can’t get mine to turn to the red line at all. I can’t depressed the yellow and it won’t line up plus when I first was looking at it the orange plug popped out 🤦🏻♀️ the only places I can call don’t open till 8
Yep I tried a site that suggested you had to depress the pilot just got turn it to pilot position and mine won’t budge. It’s like it’s set to on, hot and very hot but won’t turn to off or pilot and I don’t want to push it or break something. What a bummer
This is an advertisement for American Standard. My experience American Standard sucks unless it’s from the 1960’s or 70’s. Kohler is way better than any American Standard.

As someone who regularly blocks the toillets(idk if thats hows it's said in English) I'm glad of having the American standard one it's the only water drop system I havent managed to block
Wait until you get your hands on a Caroma Toilet, they’re Australian designed not to clog given it has a 4” diameter waste trap an pipe with heavy wash down in the bowl but doesn’t use as much water compared to American toilets. My friend had cool water for showers for 2 1/2 years. I recommended that she adjust the temperature setting on her water heater. She tried that but somehow caused the pilot light to go off. That night she had no warm water. She called at 11:00 PM to "thank" me for my recommendation. She then sent photos and I saw that she had a 2018 Rheem Gas Water Heater with Natural Gas. She then tried to follow the directions on the side of the Water Heater but it wasn't clear just what plate had to be removed. She had also asked for advice via Facebook and a guy with whom she had attended HS sent a link to your video. She followed your instructions. She needed to try lighting a second time but that was a charm. She set it to Hot and she can now have warm showers. You saved her landlord a bunch of money. Thank you for an excellent video. It will help me if I even need to relight my Rheem Water Heater's Pilot. P.S. She went from not knowing where her water heater was and thinking that it was electric when she found it to relighting its pilot light over a 36 hour period. 🙂

Longshot, but my knob WILL NOT turn to off or to pilot. Same assembly. Called rheem and they told me i need to replace it, 2 day shipping so wondering if anyone else had this issue. I cant even try to get the pilot light going because i cant turn it
Mine also won’t turn to align to the red marker. I’ve never messed with one before so I’m not sure what’s its normal is but it didn’t respond like his did and sounds oddly like yours damn it!
@jewdd1989 there is a faulty sensor on this assembly. Disconnect the sensor on the copper thermocouple and you'll be able to turn it! Took me days to figure it out and ended up breaking the whole assembly and having to replace it, but didn't have to replace the pilot knob. I'll link a video with the sensor I'm talking about
