It's interesting you say your vocal break is around an F4, because this would normally be a break for a tenor. Bass normally break around the A3 - D4 area.
@DavidKahnSings interesting I didn't know your break could change. I just presumed your passaggios were set in stone. Perhaps you mastering the mix voice has bridged this gap for you? I have a low deep voice too so I found your video quite interesting. Without any vocal training I could quite comfortably hit a C2 note however still struggle to sing high. My break is around C4. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences. I think that you are so talented. And I can only imagine the work you have had to put in to develop your range to where it is now. You have probably had to work so much harder than other artists who are natural tenors and can naturally sing high. I really hope you have success in your music career you deserve it 🙂
I had watched a lot of videos on how to do this and couldn't figure it out, and then one day at school I was singing softly enough that I accidentally did it. I tried again and kept trying, and now I'm fairly good at it, but the way I discovered it was a complete fluke. But this video was by far the most helpful, thanks a lot man! 🔥
That’s an insane range you got. I always heard its physically impossible for a bass to belt in the 5th octave. I guess with enough practice I can get there considering my lowest note is D2
Funnily enough I find it easier to fry and reach a subharmonic when I'm sick, as long as my throat isn't too damaged from hacking. Goeff covers this too.
I can go from e2 to C#5 (a little uncomfortable) but from A#4 and below it is comfortable, all in chest voice. Sometimes I can go to c2 with fry, and in mixed voice I go from f4 to d5 and head voice from d4 to B5 and whistle register c6 to c7 I'm a 20 year old man and I want to know what my vocal type is?
I've had an envy feeling so bad in a long time bcs of this 🥲...As a singing hobby-teenage 15yo boy I can't even hit (G4) in a strong way or maybe sustain it, I can barely hit (G#4) five times or maybe less in my teenage voice, Now I'm a bass singer (F#1-G4)😞, In my past years when I was 5 to10 years old I can really2 easily hitting (D6) Upper belting tehnique and my lowest belting note is (F#4).. But now, I only have my strain voice, Falsetto, headvoice, headvoice mixed with whistle, and whistle register...It was just like I'm not satisfied hitting a high note that supposed to be belted that I'm doing it Headvoice or Falsetto. Yk what I mean..It's hurting so much, having a teenage vocals as i get older and older. It feels a big different than what I used to be🥲...But this is me now

I’m a bass and I just recently increased my belting range up to the 5th octave but with some strain and a more heady mixed voice. I didn’t know it was even possible for a bass to belt a C5 with this much ease and fullness but maybe with more practice I’ll get there 👀
