I love this story BUT I have heard that Billy was shot in the face with Pat Garretts shotgun while Garrett lay in wait, not in Pete's bedroom but on the porch from under a cot. Therefore the body was identifiable and could have been Billies friend who shadowed Billy. The next day while the body was hastily burried, Billy's horse and all his traps were gone- did they burry Billy or was it his shadow? The thinking is Billy road away! We will probably never know!

Great video. I just have one complaint and it’s not with anyone besides these two stupid assassins. Have they not ever heard of checking for a pulse!? They had to be either two of the three stooges, or they had so much morphine in hand that they had that, never ending supply feeling. Great channel, I reckon I’m gonna have to subscribe. I am so grateful to be a non active addict anymore. In three months it’ll be six years. Yet still! I reserve the right to mourn the waste of any quality drug. Besides weed. No matter the “quality“ i’ve never wanted anything to do with it. Selling, using, or giving it away. It’s not worth a fraction of what other things are, at a fraction of the size and smell.

Were Birt and Davis closer than Birt and Bobby Gene Gaddis? I dated Gaddis's niece for a while. She told some horrible stories about him.

I love Phenix City, I always will. That Central High School you heard about, I graduated from there in 1995. The Elite Cafe, attempted a come back awhile back but it didn’t work out. The City Council and Mayor couldn’t be better! 💕

A well research series. I know Phenix City was not your focus, but you tied it well into the series (perhaps you will do a series on Sin City). At the same time my grandparents moved from Atlanta to Auburn (next to Winder) in 1970 where spent our summers working on their farm. My grandmother wouldn't let us even look toward Winder unless she was with us. She knew what was going on there and did her best to protect us from it.

Why doesn't this channel have 100k followers, minimum? Let's try to correct that. Subscribed, bell rang, commented, liked, upvoted, shared ... may the algorithm gods smile favorably upon your channel. Looking forward to the Pee Wee Gaskins episode. Being a South Cackalacki, Savanna River border teen in the 60s and 70s ... I remember the Georgia stuff like yesterday. There were plenty of rough ole boys running around the South back then.

My Grandaddy made some of the best Whiskey in South GA. Sold a many a gallon to the soldiers at Ft. Benning. Had a Plate of Steel in his T Bucket car back of back seat. Military Police sometimes shot at him with their Tommy Guns. He shared many stories with me. Taught me how to cook when I was 10 years old. Was hauling in the VW Baja bug by age 14. I took the slow route never go stoped hidden in plain sight.

I am a huge fan of your channel, but I think that you are making connections between Billy the Kid and John Dillinger that, to me, don't exist. John was incredibly cruel, enjoyed inflicting pain and terror. Billy was pretty much firced into the outlaw life, became trapped in that role and finally accepted it.

I love history, most especially American history. Of course, wild west history is st the top of my favorites. So, I have read, watched and listened to lots, LOTS of Billy the Kid history. This is, dar and away the best researched of anything that I have ever found. Before listening to Black Barrel Media, I thought that I Knew all there was to know about the outlaw. Thank you, not only for the outstanding research, but for narrating this standout account with a really good, real live Human. Your channel should have 100K subscribers. Hopefully, you will soon

If he would’ve had an AK the cop would’ve been gone..fast. Our founding fathers never intended for civilians to outgun police.
@TheMcInator
@TheMcInator 15 дней назад
What evidence do you have to back up that statement?
@jakepadgett5569
@jakepadgett5569 14 дней назад
I would argue our founding fathers demand that the public have the same access to guns that the government had. If the government has control of all the best firearms then you can have tyrannical government.
@marcisunshine18
@marcisunshine18 14 дней назад
@@TheMcInator what are you talking about? What evidence would you like to see? Do you not understand the message of our forefathers or do you not understand how an AK works? It’s funny how the right always needs us to do research for them. Trump does love the uneducated. The smartest thing Republicans ever did was convince all of you poor people to fight for them to get bigger paychecks because if Mitch McConnell got a huge paycheck for windmills, he would be fighting for more windmills.

@@marcisunshine18 Obviously, you do not understand the Constitution. The second amendment was to protect private citizens' rights to be able to bear arms protect themselves, their families and their properties from invaders- whether they are criminals and/ or a tyrannical government (just like our country is slowly being controlled by). Plus, it was to protect the citizens that form a well related militia- like a National Guard Unit, a Reserve Unit, a citizens' militia group or one of the private military contractors (Blackrock, Vanguard and other private corporate armies).
