Every one commenting on how he hunts but no one knows th truth about Mark Sullivan unfortunately. Let me tell you all. He will hurt Big game animals and make them charge for his hunting videos breaking the main ethics and code of being a professional hunter puting the hunter and his client in danger of doing so. In his hungting viideos you will see how he taunts big game animals to charge and invading their space when wounded. Dog shit of a human being and glad he was chased away and banned from Profeesional Hunting

"Why would you not wanna walk up and let that buffalo decide how he's gonna die". I honestly respect that statement, while it is dangerous to walk up to big wounded animals on a hunt its like a code of honor between old warriors. For a wounded man shall tell his assailant, " if i live i will kill you, if i die you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Thank You. Holds true for tracking wounded grizzles. Thank You, for pointing out, the bino position. I hate seeing those chest holders. Just crap, in the way. The only place for something on the chest section, would be your pistol of last resort. Your very admired, thank you for your professionalism

Hahaha..really the big guy isn`t he. Typical "big boss" overseas PH with much attitude and showing off all his experience, kills, rifle, prowess and close shots on the big 5. I am a South African, seventy three years old...born and bred in Africa and hunted all those animals. Local hunters are just not like this....we are different and speak much less....stay well and regards.

Dbl triggers always fire. Single trigger uses inertia from recoil to set other barrel. So if you get a misfire you just switch triggers

He does make some sense with the little things. A double is a specialized tool. Do you need one for hunting in Africa? No, you don't. I know I am not physically fit enough to carry a 12 lb 577 NE all day and shoot it well enough when it counts. Then, there is the recoil of the cartridge. It's a PH's tool; he is there to keep you out of trouble. A 375 H+H in a good bolt gun that has been worked over properly, or a 416 Remington or Rigby will work fine. To say otherwise is nonsense. Now, having Heym build you a double that fits you and chambered in a cartridge you can shoot is terrific; having Rigby or Holland and Holland make you one well, then you really do well in life. For most, it's a trip of a lifetime, and by the time you are in a place where you can do so financially, you will be well into your 60's or 70's.

I have shot two charging bears and one charging cougar during 35 years of biological field work in northern BC, Canada. All these charges happened within in seconds and all animals were killed within 5 yards. I could not agree more with you on all points and all these other internet experts you see and hear so often do not really have a clue and have likely never been in a real situation. I carry an over under combination gun with side locks too and at close range even the 12 gauge barrel will do its job for all our species here in Canada. If I were living in Africa I'd choose a side-by-side form Heym in a larger caliber too. I always loved their rifles best, especially their sidelock doubles and the company is so great to deal with. In my opinion though the most dangerous charges are these damn fast cats like cougar and leopard or jaguar, I shot mine in mid jump at just 4 yards. I find, getting as low a shooting position as possible if you have the time to fall on one knee, helps! Great video and chapeau since you speak from experience!

Back in the old days I, Hemingway and TR would hunt buffalo with this guy after a few bottles of rum. He was pretty good then, but he got a whole lot better after we taught him everything we knew. Oh, and Beryl markham would spot the herds for us from the air.
