It is interesting to do an assessment of our world as best we can now, 34 years after this interview. The West still tries to indoctrinate we the masses with assumptions. But the West now has to openly jail dissidents and whistle blowers, criminalize protests and overtly suppress the exchange of ideas. I wonder at the reasons Western power behaves this way now. I guess at three reasons. First, Capitalism has run out of wealth it can pirate from former colonies and from the masses within the West. This erodes the core comfort that kept us from the teeth that chomped on us. We masses could accept the indoctrination in part because we were comfortable in the wealth that was allowed to spill down to us. Comfort bringing its own set of assumptions. Now that's gone. Now Western elites through their goons slowly have become more ham fisted with no end in sight to their growing anger and out lashing against Western masses. Second, we are so over exposed to modes of indoctrination that we are at best awake to it. At worst we ignore it. The indoctrination gives us no tangible benefit. Also, the indoctrination no longer matches our experience now that the Western world has become so culturally mixed. Also the world beyond our familiar walls is to a significant degree opened to us through digital media. Digital media has made the facts and realities rest of the world accessible. Accessibility through digital media opens the third change. We can exchange ideas with most people, most places, learn and organize. Which brings out the ham fist of the elites, the oligarchs of the West.

This speech rings loud in my ears in today’s world. 2024 as the US projects her power to protect her interests in the South China Sea, the Middle East, Ukraine and increasingly Northern Africa. The stage is slowly being set for large and widespread war, possibly WWIII. I ask every American, especially parents and guardians of middle and high school age children, look closely at what is happening in far away places and decide now, are you willing to bury your sons and daughters for whatever reason the military industrial complex provides? Will the drums of war beat to the sound of the “eradication of terrorism”? Will the banner of war be flown in the name of protecting Taiwan? I don’t know. I do know that the generals around the world are already sitting at the table drawing lines on maps. Lines that will be drawn in blood. And once again the war profiteers will fill their coffers with Tyne loot and treasure obtained through the wholesale slaughter of our nation’s sons and daughters and some foreign people who will be demonized by the juggernaut of the American propaganda machine. Critical thinking has never been more important than it is now.

Your slight against both Harris and Peterson, pretentiously posed as a question exposes a lack of intelligence that would be required to even recognize the level of intelligence and knowledge with which these individuals experience reality. As a matter of fact, every single person who's had the audacity to assume that they're in any way, shape or form qualified to critique the ideas or philosophies or theories that all three, Chomsky, Harris or Peterson, in the comment section of a video that was uploaded two years ago of an interview that was conducted and recorded twenty-four years ago are displaying nothing other than arrogance and ignorance and are as far from affecting them, or anyone fortunate enough to even begin to understand their deepth of understanding and intelligence, as you are from Bootes Void. Personally, i respect and enjoy listening to all three though I haven't the hubris to claim to understand and/or agree with everything they propose but I appreciate the good faith with which they conduct themselves and their positions. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of those to whom my comment is intended.
I am also not for two-state solution - but for a different reason. I want the old Palestine to be restored as a multi-community secular democratic state with an Arab majority but the populations proportions of various communities strictly frozen at reasonable levels. Further, I want that Jerusalem should be made an international holy city totally under UN auspices and there also different communities' population proportions should be strictly frozen. If a separate Jewish State is desired, let Israelis relocate their Israel somewhere in a larger territory in North America, preferably in Canada, where there are vast empty spaces to rehabilitate them and there build up a prosperous and peaceful State as there are and will be no rivalries from neighbors there.

This is very very wrong. Christians have no interest in the holy land other than for pillgrimage. This is because we understand that Christ is the new temple. Not some geographical location.
