I was playing Uno on their app and got free coins if I watched an ad. The ad was for Walmart and this song was used for it. Had to look it up based on what they were singing because I've never heard it before. I love this song! Best ad I've ever gotten! Thanks for having it here 👍
Just curious if anyone knows who they were performing for in Berlin that night. Was it an all white audience due to segregation? I would like to think some of our US Black servicemen stationed in West Gernsny back then were lucky enough to be there too but I just don't know. It would have been such a treat for them. 6/27/24
2:04 Bill Kenny ended up divorcing and sueing Mrs. Marguerite Kenny after he found out she had adopted the child she claimed was his in order to collect support money from him.
And for more trivia, Gloria died VERY young... like 1-5 years after this 1947 video. I believe she and Herb were legally married but separated. I need to revisit my research. And Ruth Bowen became a pioneer in the industry for managing some legendary artists. Google Ruth Bowen, there's a ton of info on her. Much more famous than her husband ever was!
Lol my wife when on a trip to welcome our second great grandson , and is been a week already I miss my wife I know she be here in a week but I feel lonely that's why a look for Redd to meke me feel good
The arrangement on this tune just knocks me out! Those percussive hooks are all put together so well, and it's just one after another- boffo! There's another kick in the slats! The drummer's running the whole thing- listen to the way he wheels around on "greater smoking pleasure and a taste that is divine." He's not just playing along with the rhythm, it's a rolling hit. And he fractures the rhythm that way all through it. I don't even know if they can still write arrangements like this. Very inspiring.
i would have immediately gone for an autograph and a selfie. what a privilege it must be to experience an intimate concert in a place as typically mundane and hectic as an airport.

If I had to choose just one day If I had to choose just one day To live my whole life through It would surely be that Sunday The day that I met you Newborn whippoorwills were calling from the hills Summer was a-coming in but fast Lots of daffodils were showing off their skills Laughing all together, I could almost hear them whisper "Go on, kiss her, go on and kiss her" And if I had to choose one moment To live within my heart It would surely be that moment Recalling how we started Darling, it would be when you smiled at me That way, that Sunday, that summer Newborn whippoorwills were calling from the hills Summer was a-comin' in but fast Lots of daffodils were showin' off their skills Nodding all together, I could almost hear them whisper "Go on, kiss her, go on and kiss her" If I had to choose one moment To live within my heart It would be that tender moment Recalling how we started Darling, it would be when you smiled at me That way, that Sunday, that summer If I had to choose just one day
