For whatever reason the factory plastic grip on the Hoyt Satori seems to be causing me to get a nasty blister on my right thumb knuckle at the base of the joint. Any suggestions of what to do? Seems to be a flawed design which forces your hand into a high grip position and causes your knuckle to grind underneath the bottom of the plastic grip.
If you are in your comfort zone you have reached success. I’ve never met a person who said I’m comfortable but unsuccessful. Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations only fills you with doubt and regret. Everyone has a different version of success, don’t base your success off of someone else.
-.- posting vids with a bow no one else can compete with.....dam you but I love it. Nice shooting Tex. What's up with those arrows? They look awesome what are you shooting?
Thank you The arrows are goldtip hunter XTs in 340 spine. With 4 aae trad vanes and 7in wrap. I have 270 grains of point wait over all weight of the arrow is 590 and this bow is putting the out at 176 fps.
SSA, I live in a Nanny State (Mass) nuf said. Would love to own a Glock 20, but former AG (who is now Governor... :( ) made Glocks on a NO GO list. Glocks slide in from time to time but at DOUBLE THE PRICE on a USED GLOCK... Think $900+ Ugh.. Picked up a Ruger Alaskan 44 mag a year ago and love it. Picking up a Ruger Alaskan in 454 Tomorrow. I am a fan of the Ruger Revolver line... While hiking with wife & kids have confronted black bear in Mass twice. Both times good.. Have encountered Moose in North Maine woods in which I should have a had a firearm as a backup... My naive youth in the early 90's and looking back should have been armed because it COULD HAVE gone wrong quick. Not knowing / respecting the power of a Moose is very dumb. The rules have changed for out of state carrying in Maine. So when I bring my wife and kids I can say with confidence we will be safe. Cheers Buddy! Subbed!
Good video. For brown bears it seems there’s really two main choices in handguns. Either a high capacity 10mm or a 6 shot 44 mag revolver. Both are solid choices, each has their positives and negatives. I have a 10mm G40 but of course I want a 44 revolver too.
Glock 20 with 220 grain Underwood hard cast never misses a beat here. Backup gun Smith and Wesson 460 with Underwood 360 grain hard cast. This combo I put my life on simply because this is what I practice with time and time again..... excellent content, keep em coming
I went with a 10mm 1911, too many bad reviews of Glock and hard cast ammo. I have run many boxes of 180 grain jacketed practice rounds thru mine, and many Bear load 200 grain, 200 grain Lehi hard cast, and extreme penetrators without issue and without messing with the barrel and spring I see so many have to do to make the Glock reliable. I 100 percent agree, carry what you shoot well. and Practice, practice, practice!
I’ve ran several thousand rounds of Hardcast lead through my Glocks. No issues. People don’t understand what’s really going on when they say they don’t recommend lead in the Glock polygonal barrel. Hardcast is ok Soft cast lead is ok if you monitor and clean often. The problem lies when you shoot several lead rounds and follow with a jacketed bullet without cleaning the bore first. It causes an extra pressure spike and can rupture the case of the cartridge.
I can't get my G20 to shoot hardcast to save my life. Tried stock, multiple recoil springs, heavy magazine springs, kkm barrel, 220 hardcast and 200 hardcast from multiple companies. I saw that Underwood recommended their extreme penetrators over their hardcast for bear so gave them a shot. They run flawlessly so I will be sticking with them.
