Doesn't sound like Skydance wants Alex Kurtzman gone... at least not yet. In fact, it sounds like there's a reasonable chance they'll give him a contract extension.
But... this "confusing" time for Star Trek has also helped it. Throwing spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. A bunch of crap was produced, yes... but if Strange New Worlds continues to improve, I think in the long run, they will find out what works long-term... and that will be good for the fans. They had a lot of weird ideas and a lot of people and money to make them happen. A lot of them failed or are failing, but BECAUSE of that, there are some gems and some better ideas coming along. Sometimes, you have to use the shotgun strategy and see how many pellets find their mark. Then improve your aim. ....that is IF Skydance is savvy enough to realize what happened and how to do better now.
Have you ever seen the Midnight's Edge video from 5 years ago called: "Star Trek: The Prime Deception"? It goes into some detail of the rights issues Star Trek has, and not even the re-merger from a couple of years ago has fixed it, since Secret Hideout continues to have productions in play.
I like to see samatha charter be in charge of sg1 with the help of Danial Jackson. Helping with the ancient Division. And Rodney helping with a way to catch up with. Destiny. Now Eli still had the stones to keep up with news and Upgrade on earth. The new movies kept him entertained new books on engine ect. Unfortunately his food was running low. And had to stop at an Eden type of planet. To get a few resources. And ran into ford who has been gating to gate to catch up with the rumor of. Destiny mission. Ford Olso was hunted by the robot drods because of the new technology he had picked up on his travels. Together they out Witt the drods as they headed back to destiny. To continue help the pods to. Energy but not knowing there was one droid that was attached another hual from the last battle they have but not active. At this time more to come
Kurtzman sucks and there hasn't been any real Star Trek since Voyager really, with the exception of Picard Season 3. So I hope they get Trek back to what it was, one timeline, one universe and stop the woke crap, singing Klingons and crying women on bridges. Also, stop all that tilted angle views with the light glares, OMG!!! Just write good stories for crying out loud!!!
I wrote a full piece for a movie ending that tied in the sg1 and sga ancients, specifically the creator of the Time Machine etc. they reach the center of the universe, and meet something/someone with a cliff hanger…leaving you to decide ….
Sounds very messy with Star Trek and I don’t know how you are saying that Star Trek from 2009 has been a success. The 2009 movie made money but 2013 and 2016 movies lost money. The viewing figures of Star Trek from 2017 to 2024 have been less per episode than even Star Trek Enterprise Season 4 at 4 million. Paramount would kill for 4 million people per episode watching any Star Trek now. There has been little to no merchandise of Bad Robot/Secret Hideout. Google Trends also show that Star Trek since 2017 has been viewed poorly. The conventions still have mainly fans from 1966 to 2005 Star Trek which isn’t good for the future of the franchise. Finally, we need the writers and producers from Star Trek 1966 to 2005 to create new new Star Trek before it’s too late. The modern writers are basing Star Trek on soaps, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and memberberries. When will Paramount bring Star Trek DS9 and Voyager out in at least HD for once and for all?
Actually STID is the highest ever grossing Trek movie at 467K worldwide and of course 09 made money as well. As for the merchandising sadly most of the TNG figures from Galoob and Playmates are tanking on ebay. And both companies produced alot of merchandise.
@@sulpherking This is not true. When accounting for all expenses the nuTrek films all lost money. And thats not counting the long term damage they've done to the brand.

1:42 You forgot The Orville. Not only rad, it was the inspiration for the Lower Decks show. Because Orville is dead (and all the old next gen crew love him). If they got Seth Mcfarline to do a real Star Trek comedy with the creator of LD Mike Mcmahon together, we could have a successful opportunity if done correctly.
We have discussed a few times.. Disney are pushing for Orville to return.. very likely going into production in new year but Hulu want reassurance that a season a year can be produced in future. Sticking point is also budget which is likely to be lower than new horizon budget. No official announcement yet
Orville isn't dead and will have season 4 next year. Rumours have it Seth told where Disney to jump with their DEI woke agenda and is writing it all himself. Disney accepted and that and will let him do what he wants.
The Crow never needed a remake, just make another crow story, none of them should be remade, The Crow franchise based on the Crow not the person the Crow helps, this is why I liked or enjoyed all the previous films, that did not try to replace Eric Draven was the reason they worked (even the badly made ones) this new crow should not have been a remake of the original movie. the new Crow should have been an additional story to the others, I love Skarsgaard, but this movie was not a good production. change the name of the two leads and it might have been accepted better, but I doubt it would have made the money they think it was going to.
Follow the paper trail of the money swapped doing the shell game basically. Lol whatever works on whatever it takes to save Star Trek plus any other Paramount big ticket franchise items! ❤
Secret Hideout has a long history of making a series of cool visuals and then coming up with a weak story to tie them all together. They don't respect the canon and they don't respect the characters. They kill off any Trek show that does (LD and Prodigy). They need to throw out all this new-Trek and get back to things that add to the exising Trek lore instead of making more alternate versions that divide the fanbase further.
It boggles my mind when people say they just will pay more for "ad free". TV was free and paid by the commercials to begin with. We paid for cable to get our shows ad free. Now they are just double dipping and getting away with it.
This talk about Lower Decks being canceled by Secret Hideout (45 minutes in) makes no sense as Secret Hideout is a contractor FOR CBS. They hold a license to produce shows for CBS but they do not OWN Star Trek... This also goes against everything Secret Hideout has said about cancellations and ignores the Executive/Programming decisions made by CBS. CBS places "show orders" for any series that airs on linear cable/network or streaming. Secret Hideout has NO power to make shows and have Paramoun+ air them, they are contracted by CBS. This is not making any sense. Secret Hideout did not cancel Prodigy and license it to Netflix, CBS did that. Secret Hideout was shocked when Discovery was cancelled as they were with Lower Decks. Can anyone provide clarity here? @SciTrek
Also- this is the first time I'm hearing anyone internal report that ratings were/are good for any nutrek show. The ratings have never been revealed for any Star Trek show on Paramount+, I'm dubious of this casual mention of "the ratings for LD were good..." For context, in every financial memo and disclosure related to this sale, South Park, Paw Patrol, Spongebob Squarepants and Tyler Sheridan shows got mentioned as being popular for the platform... Star Trek has never, not once been mentioned for being popular or bringing in any profit what-so-ever. I also know former financial people who worked in the production management offices and they knew that Paramount was hemorrhaging money with every show they green lit so they were OK'ing projects before they knew what they were, and didn't care that they would NEVER return a profit. This is why P+ is $1.6 BILLION in debt and the rest of the company is $14 Billion in debt.
The deal that secret hideout has with cbs/paramount means they do have significant control over what is produced. It’s a very unusual relationship but in this case it does seem it was a secret hideout decision to limit the show to 5 seasons. On ratings we are talking good relatively… but SNW does touch the top 10 on the Nielsen list regularly and Picard season 3 topped it.
SGU was great. The problem was half the fan base didn't get it and cried that it wasn't a real Stargate show. They wanted a SG1 2.0. That's why they started going back to earth all the time and crap to try and make that portion of the fanbase happy and those were the worst episodes. It was slow because it was a space opera like Battlestar Galactica. Stargate "Fans" got what they wanted because they cried like they spoke for all of us and destroyed a good thing. And now they are making videos titled Was SGU really that bad etc and profiting from it
im all for more star trek but if they are going to go for broke with woke content Im going to say it will go the sameway as starwars its a cash cow if you keep with the basic formula itsa money pit if you dont

The problem is "your" group didn't like SGU because it wasn't fun and y'all kept lashing out the show wasn't a Stargate show and they took your opinion as the opinion of all Stargate fans. I loved the show because it was different than the other two. You all wanted the same old thing. Thank God no one listened to the Star Trek fans that blasted Deep Space Nine because it wasn't a real Star Trek show. Maybe next time y'all should stop believing your opinion is the only opinion. It took you 2 seasons to see the point of SGU was to not be a carbon copy? Since day 1 it was cancelled I blamed your group for getting it cancelled and I still believe it to be true.
Kurtzman has managed to create successful t.v, something that Paramount has craved. and he managed a fair amount of fan-service as part of that. but any mis-steps or tonal variants are nowhere as egregious as the Star Wars prequels or sequels (though Andor, Rogue One, and Mandalorian have been good. Liked the Obi-Wan show, too). If anything, taking Discovery into the far future and the development of Strange New Worlds have been a huge validation of Kurtzman's vision. I do not get the level of hate some people are directing towards him. okay- Picard was actually "meh" but it's because they tried so hard to justify Brent Spiner's characters. actually weakened the story. Romulan stuff great. needing android and Borg closure...? meh. at least 7of9 was there... But the Lower Decks/Strange New Worlds crossover was both so meta, yet respectful, and only possible under Kurtzman. I say examine just why you're so hate filled- this guy is pulling off stuff few could. He's not Zac Snyder, he's not Kathleen Kennedy... he actually gets what makes Star Trek tick.
I heard mgm lyes about any stargate series it would be nice to have a Stu movie to end the series right same with Atlantis Maybe together somehow With some of the cast of sg1. Helping to get a good ending or beginning
I think Stargate universe was a great show and that if it came back today alongside Atlantis and SG1 they would totally dominate as long as they stayed true and didn't fall victim to the woke mind virus.
Why not Stargate SG-1: The Next Generation. You have that one alien girl Sam adopted, Jack's clone, Teal'c son, and add a daughter or son from Daniel and Vala.
