Very useful indeed. I have a four month old puppy which, after a forty minute walk along hilly ground, seems to have hip displeasure (wobbly walk, occasionally her right hind leg gives way, but it isn’t painful). Would you recommend I wait until she is a year old or 18 months to see if it settles into a subclinical condition? Today’s walk was for about half an hour, and she showed no sign of wobbliness.
Was about to do surgery on my dog. Put him on the X-39 patch and it worked wonders. Unbelievable results. YT will not let me say anything else about it . Just look it up . I tried to give more info on it but YT removed everyone. I can not even tell that he has hip dysplasia now.
The breeders have tiny cages where a dog can't even stand up.No wonder bred dogs get hipdysplasia. Can you do anything to change this by law? I live it Himachal Pradesh,India and local 🐕 don't have hipdysplasia only bred dogs.Is it not the small cage which causes the hereditary factor? It should be forbidden to lock animals in small cages where they can't move normally.
My flat coated retriever injured his hip and needed surgery. It's been 7 weeks and Levi is still not walking on it. He started therapy three weeks ago and I see a slight improvement. I've done everything plus more and I wonder if he'll ever have the same quality of life. He is only 2 years old. Thank you for the excellent video.
Seems as if some form of truss would be a help preventing matters from reaching a most serious stage. Well-presented and avoiding talking down' to owners like so many in the medical/vestiary profession do.
Curcumin AKA TURMERIC for pain in dogs, its an anti inflammatory, also ginger, and pet store has GLUCOSAMINE for dogs as well, for joints and pain. stay away from pharma grade PAIN meds, they have far too many side effects.
And yet again no mention of the many papers written concerning vaccination in young puppies and over vaccination. when the science doesn't follow the money sweep it under the carpet. Plenty of information on line for anyone wishing to educate themselves on the subject.
Hi, we just had our 11-year old mini (33 lb) Aussie diagnosed with hd. We missed earlier signs (vets told us his rear tremors were idiopathic or neurological) but now he's moved into a disabling, really painful phase. He has liver issues so we can't give him NSAIDs... What do we do?! Our vet is saying he's not a candidate for total hip replacement. (Amazing video, by the way)

In india these kind of treatment still not available. Please some organization focus on development countries. My pet also suffer from hip displacia but still I am not received proper solution or surgery for his problem. Please introduce these technologies in india also it will help many pets here.its my humble request 🙏.
@@timothyjoseph1848 ohhhh so sad bro....my dog is fine he is 6 years old now. Only thing you do is maintain proper diet maintain his weight within 30, give meghaflex twice after food or synopet. Swimming is best exercise.

Question: We have friends who had a lovely dog who developed this condition and suffered in her later years. I was wondering if there isn't a contraption, like a wrist guard for humans, that can help dogs when they are young? For instance you put it on the young dog when you are about to exercise them and take it off afterwards. The dogs that seem to develop this condition, like labs and golden retrievers are high energy dogs that need daily exercise, so I was just wondering if there is something that can help keep the femoral head steady. Prevention seems to be key.

How can you be sure a dog has dysplasia and not dislocated hips after a collision with a bigger dog. She is a Border terrier and appeared to be fine until this collision. I say this as after Xray the Vet diagnosed dysplasia, the ball appears to be the correct shape when compared to other normal Xrays I have found on the net. Anyway we have to wait 14 days for s specialist to return,

He's already been rehomed once and he's only a year old, he's a part of our family and unfortunately we'll have to consider surrendering him to the SPCA if we can't raise the money ourselves to have his hip replaced. Sway 638, you don't replace puppies hip, you cut the femoral head off. Are you sure you are trying to raise money for your puppy or is it a few cases of beer you're after?
My 5 year old x pomaranian has hip dysphasia she dislocated her left hip while just sniffy around the park on a leash bad twist to her left side left her with so much pain X-ray indicated a hip dislocation and best treatment provided by the Vet was surgery referred to as femoral head & neck excision she is due for surgery in just a few days and the anxiety just starting to set in as there appears to be a long road to recovery to ease future pain on such a young dog, hope her right hip is in better working order.🐶🐶🐶
my best friend is a german shephard and is just over 13yrs old. His hips are really bad, has trouble getting up and down, can no longer sit, and is just starting to poop as he sleeps or when he is getting up. Took him to the vet and they want to start all kinds of meds and tests that Im fearing are not going to work. My struggle is how much at his age do I put him through. I don't want a temporary fix, if it's not going to work for him I would rather save him alot of grief and pain and just keep him comfortable. But I'm trying to find an answer as to how do I know he has been put through enough and how to make the decision that it is time to say good bye to my most faithful friend. any comments will be appreciated.
Bradley Gregovski As someone who works in a vet and encounters owners asking the same question, I ask you this: when the time does come to say goodbye, do you want to feel peace in the knowledge you did everything you could? I'm guessing your vets will probably want to run bloodwork, take x-rays, and suggest treatment options. They're probably going to give you their best options for your situation. In the end, your dog will let you know when he's done. Good luck to you and your friend.
