Americans ( white and black) have to understand one thing. You are Americans, and everyone sees you as such. Africa is a continent, notca nation. Even people within the same country are ethnically diverse and wouldn't date or marry someone outside their tribe, religion, and community. This goes for white Americans as well l. Just because your grandpa came from Italy, it doesn't mean you are Italian. If you weren't born and raisen in the country, you are a foreigner. No one is impressed by your ancestors. You are American.
I don't disagree with you about the formation of the black vs white identity, but to what end? I say capitalism. You make all these links to psychological and social controls but ignore that all of this was for financial supremacy. We as pan Africans continue to operate in a system of oppressive financial supremacy that creates the symptoms of social hierarchy you outline. Why is our goal not separation from those systems, and communal self sufficiency through communism?

We are citizens in the place we have citizen ship, or born or social security # ! I went to Norway when I was in college bc my grandmother talked about the country her parents came from. It was beautiful there and everyone looked like me but I hurried back to chicago after a month.

I have seen pictures( or drawings) in old Life magazines where black locals on the west coast of africa were selling blacks slaves to white europeans.Anather curiosity with african americans is that they have the tendency to elect politicians who share their color no matter what.In the old wild west,people would hang those stealing cattle and did not care if the one commiting the crime were whites.Amazing,isn't it In latin america we tolerate being mistaken as a native of another south america country but not so much if they think we are from mexico,or El Salvador.In south america we know each other,we are united by the love of soccer but divided every 4 years( world cup) .
White guy here, and you hit the nail on the head when you said we have to get around the same people who share the same culture as we do, regardless of skin color. This is absolutely the truth. Skin color doesn't matter unless you make skin color your culture. Culture is what matters, and I'd rather be in a room full of Chinese, Japanese, African, and Latino people who share my culture than a room full of white people who do not.

It is interesting how some people fall for propaganda. However, I wish we could drop color before identifying as American. The problem is not how we individually identify with these systemic and oppressive titles. It is how the government uses systemic labels to classify us as African American, etc. We are one of the only racial groups to ever have so many different titles legally assigned to us.
I'm completely OK with locals paying less than foreigners. Everywhere that should be. Also, she misunderstood the assignment. They didn't invite us, the government did. You gotta learn to live with your decisions, not be surprised by the result. And the visa makes sense. You coming home? That's initial rent anyway. I get paying $20 for a plate. All the brother's and sister's N-words are unnecessary. When you go anywhere, appearance and intelligence-how you act-are more important because you don't know who was in front of you or who is coming behind you-they are more significant than anything else, particularly in the case of movies and television, which sometimes give a bad image of black people. I've literally never heard black people blame jews for anything. Some of this sounds like propaganda. I grew up in the projects, Horn Lake Heights in Memphis, Tn. Some of this is very true but ive never witnessed black people being mean towards foreigners. Maybe its because of where im from but that part was complete cap to me. I had never even heard of a jew until i was a young man, maybe 17 when i was watching Higher Learning and had to ask my older brother.
