Longplays channel with a twist : in addition to regular longplays, I make "remixed" versions without SFX for a more relaxing viewing experience. Music is also tweaked a little to avoid unnecessary track interruptions.
Music in remix longplays is not meant to be always 100% accurate to the game, I tweak and change things as I please.
Ah, this is truly a great hack, or a port I guess would be the right word. I'd recommend Mario Unlimited Deluxe to you too if you haven't played it, it's by the same guy.
Yeah this Mario Special recreation is really the best. Thanks for the suggestion, I remember trying this one a while back, it is indeed amazing but it got a tad too hard for my taste at some point. Maybe I should give it another go.
I played this hack and I was extremely impressed by it, again, cause it has peach as the playable character, anyway, Im really glad this was released, cause tbh, the owner put lots of effort into it and Im glad about it, only issue is the very first stage with bowser, I know its to make this easy without the fire shooting out, but even if that, he's impossible to get over, that's like my one issue with the hack, ^^
I read your review... The pipe you talk about shouldn't have been enterable in the first place xD. I'll fix that! But the magic lamp has to be there because you must get it if you respawn, not much I can do about that. Hmm, maybe I'll figure something out. It was the same with the first edition of the Daisyquest, it had three pipes in it that shouldn't have been enterable, had to patch that out in REV1! In the utility, they are called "Pipe (player can enter)" and Pipe (player can't enter) and they're right next to each other in the menu so it's easy to get them mixed up :( ... But I'll fix it, and I'll see if I can do something about that lamp!
@@IrisGalaxis OK thanks for the clarification ! I always appreciate some hindsight. So how are you supposed to finish 5-2 if you're not supposed to enter the pipe ? I couldn't figure out a way to get out of the area right after the pipe, I couldn't swim over the roof of the structure and a wall blocks all the way to the right. Unless I missed something obvious ?
You can't swim above the roof, BUT you can bounce on a bird which will send you up high through the hole in the roof, allowing you to exit the area. :)
@@ChrisRemixLongplays yep haha. I made that last world really hard. maybe even too hard honestly. but hey, it's the last world, it should be hard I guess lmao
Apparently this hack was meant to be played at PAL speed instead of the usual NTSC, that's why it runs so fast and feels a bit slippery to control. But other than that this looks pretty nice and I want to give it a try too. Thank you for making these SMB1 romhack playthrough videos. Watching them inspires me to try out new hacks that I otherwise would've missed out on. And they're relaxing to watch too.
Thanks a lot ! I'm glad you like my videos, it's great you find them relaxing because that was what I was aiming for 😄 Actually I think the hack is supposed to be this fast, because you can tell the flag poles are much farther than usual, so you need the extra speed. Maybe @IrisGalaxis can tell us ?
@@ChrisRemixLongplays Yes, it actually should have the region set to PAL. I didn't want to tell you that after you made this second video because it'd come out like "you did it wrong again" haha... But when it's set to PAL, walking speed is normal but running speed is cranked up so you can make all of those crazy long jumps :D
Thanks for the kind words @Fuchsfein! If you like this, you'll probably like my new hack too, it's called The Runaway Bride and it's just released today.
@@IrisGalaxis I'd be happy to give it a try, of course! ^_^ I'll play The Daisyquest later tonight and I can try The Runaway Bride next time. I'll set them to PAL mode, although playing at the faster speed can also be a fun challenge.
@@Fuchsfein The Runaway Bride is actually not PAL :D But thanks! The Daisyquest was made from the PAL version because it was my first hack and I didn't know that there was a difference yet. It turned out good tho!
Oh dear, I had no idea it was so easy to cheese 4-2!!! Thanks for playing, you're really good at Mario, honestly you played it better than I ever did :D
Yes, I examined your problem, there are two patches in the download, and you used the wrong one, for the ROM you have you want to use the patch named "SMDaisyquestREV3_Patch_for_NTSC_ROM.ips", not the other one.
