If you're into Sportfishing the Great Lakes, and looking to learn how to be more successful doing so, this is the page for you. We charter on Lake Ontario for Salmon and Trout as well as compete in most major tournaments across the lake. Our charters fish from the Ports of Rochester, Wilson, and Oak Orchard so we can put our clients on Lake Ontario's best bites during the season. We've always enjoyed helping people catch more fish, so after each outing we post very detailed video fishing reports. Our goal is to introduce more people to Great Lakes fishing, and shorten their learning curve so they can be more successful on the water.
All of our trolling set-ups have Dreamweaver #2or #3 Duo Lock Ball Bearing Snap Swivel on them. My question to you is, what happens when I want to change that plug out for a spoon? Ball bearing snap swivels make my job easier. I run these plugs on leadcore segments from 1 to 10 colors (all separate rod/reel combos), and 45lb copper segmented rods from 100'-400' in 50' increments (all separate rod/reel combos). On all of these rods we have #2or #3 Duo Lock Ball Bearing Snap Swivel so we can change out lures quickly and efficiently. Now, if you're a recreational angler and you want to go out and pull plugs all day tying direct might be the best way for you. I appreciate the feedback and there's always "other" ways of doing things. This has just been helpful for us.
Great tip. I need to look through and find your vid about using squid, too. Could you do a quick one on herring (real)? We can net alewives, I'm thinking I need to figure out what brine to use and freeze packs of them. Water was way too warm still at Oswego yesterday, fish still off shore except lakers in 100 fow.
Never.. Never use a swivel or snap w a j plug. The j plug barrel swivel is meant to be tied direct to line so in case a break off the barrel slides through the plug and plug floats to surface to be retrieved and used again.
Thanks for posting the report videos!! I enjoy them hopefully I can make it back there someday soon I haven’t fished Lake Ontario since 1987 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Can't thank you enough for the reports. My friend and I made our first weekend trip to the oak this past weekend. Without your advice we would have struggled to put it all together. Hooked 15 kings, boated 9 plus two cohos and a 12 lb brown. Kudos to you for being generous with your info. Tight lines.
Where do you launch your boat? Is there a public launch? I was thinking of making the trip this weekend. Do you think the fish will still be there? Thanks, I appreciate it.
Killer year so far bud. I really appreciate all of your fishing updates. I’m from Canada. Not far from Niagara. Half hour west, and I still watch your reports to get an idea of what’s going on. Being new to the salmon game I depend on reports like yours. Awesome year. Thanks again. Cheers.
Wouldn't love to see more about the setup on the new boat. I currently have a 18 ' Lund fisherman and looking for a 2075 fisherman, smoker craft or possibly a Hewescraft
What FOW are you trolling in? And does it change from morning to afternoon? I fish from a motorized kayak and planning a trip up from Ohio very soon. This week or next. I really want to land a mature from the kayak this year. I usually take 1 or 2 salmon charters, but i want to “fish” for them myself. Haha
That is not a residential wire. It's marine grade 6/2 wire from Ancor - www.westmarine.com/ancor-6-2-gauge-duplex-wire-by-the-foot-290882.html It's much easier to run this once then a separate red/black wire in my opinion.
Congrats! You will love lithiums. You know exactly how much you have left on the battery and never lose an ounce of power. Do I see a future of a replica wrap with Yankee Troller Jr.
