Now can a samoan explain what is the purpose of this ceremony? Who were the people speaking? And what is the purpose of sticks they brought into the ceremony? And many more? 😊 This is call a Ava ceremony, where the host village/church etc is welcoming the visitors. One half u have the hosts sitting, other side u have the visitors sitting. Those who are talking are all Matai (Chiefs)... also known as Tulafale. They're basically acknowledging one another.... alot more to it as well. But thats the basics of it.

I remember this. So funny. Also hearing Samoan language spoken for the first time. Think their mum deserves a medal for actually giving birth to such a brood, particularly Henry. Ouch!
And what they say is pretty mundane, Manu tries to say they are on a show, and Alesana just says Mum whats up? And Manu then says they will call her back, and they all say Fa, which is good bye.
Alesana once played a club rugby game in nz in 2010 . I was tripping out and the coaches let him play even tho he was signed to the Tigers at the time . Had a beer with him too . Great bloke .
So emotional watching this as a Samoan to see these brothers on a show in England 🏴 whilst mum rings from little old Samoa 🇼🇸❤️ my home my paradise
