Life Itself is a community of people seeking a wiser world.

Looking around us we can see that neither our society nor our planet are as well as they should be. Greater wisdom is needed both in diagnosis and in finding cures.

We emphasize wisdom because we believe this is about more than finding a quick-fix in technology or politics - it is about finding something deeper within ourselves and our societies.

This concept is very interesting indeed. At the root (the dislocated shoulder) of the present paradigm we are operating in is how much we have continued to lose touch with who we are, our essential selves, and how we are meant to live this human life - so the mess we are creating is just spiraling in so many spheres and dimensions. The Second Renaissance should very well be around (re-)connecting with our human consciousness.

your proposal for social structures reminds me of Elinor Ostrums (tragedy of the commons) work. I like the way you mention how each village connects which is how nature networks life

Why would you create an impediment to conveying your meaning by imposing your perception of divinity on someone who is actively harming themselves, through a delusion, at a desk or otherwise? Why is making them aware of your opinion on that matter relevant?

It's kind of baffling that this isn't bigger news yet. They have a protocol that can "awaken" 65% people in 45 days? Imagine how this could make a large part of what we now see as mental health care services obsolete. Not to mention antidepressants. I cannot help but feel skepticism but of course I was skeptical of things like "awakening" 5 years ago and now I definitely believe it's a real thing even if I haven't experienced it yet myself. This being said, why does the website for his 45 days program look like a scam site? Is this guy even for real? The claims made of "65% awakening in 45 days" seem unverifyable.

Missing something here, why can't the exchange, broker/dealer, and clearing house be combined? I get that an exchange should not be a market maker as he might be getting more data than other market participants.
@georges_c_brain
@georges_c_brain Год назад
FTT did have backing, if I'm correct there was a 1-5M USD buyback of the token each week by cash generated by fees of the exchange. OXY was a better example. Small market, with no income yet. If you wanted to short, you had to pay 1% a day.

Just imagine if something like this became universally applied in people across the world, as simply a part of formal education. I wonder if you could have kids do it and have it "stick" or if there's a certain age at which it's best to do.

Suggestion: if you interview him again please ask; You’ve said that PNSE can reverse under stress, but what about monks who purposefully put themselves through stress like strong determination sitting? Is it possible to make PNSE permanent? On what location does the 4th path from someone like Daniel Ingram land on? (Daniel has said you interviewed him) What are the best practices to switch to another location of PNSE when you are already in one, rather than going to a different layer On what location does the sense of self go away?
@bylifeitself

Thank you for your comment. Your questions have been passed along to Rufus.
@rufuspollock1
@rufuspollock1 Год назад
Daniel's own path clearly ended up in Location 4 if you read the autobiographical section at the end of the 2nd edition of MCTB. Re stress my understanding from Jeffery is we are more talking about more classic life stress e.g. illness, relationship conflict, big work problems etc. In this sense, physical or emotional "endangerment" can pull you out -- either to lower locations or even out of PNSE entirely.
@billusher2265
@billusher2265 Год назад
@@rufuspollock1 but Daniel’s description doesn’t fully match location 4, ex he doesn’t experience no emotion. In Jeffery’s book he said that he met someone who was pulled out of PNSE for 40 years from an illness, I’m also pretty sure he said physical stress in the body can do it. My question is if that’s true, how do monks do things like strong determination sitting without getting pulled out?

Thanks for bringing Stephen Diehl on. After the heat of unrestrained passion, a cold bath administered by skeptics is useful. It's time the Crypto enthusiast community began to ask hard questions of their most prominent evangelists and companies. Enough of the blind faith and cult-like trust. In traffic, even bank CEOs, central bank governors and ministers of finance are regularly called out to defend their decisions and whipped for bad judgment.

There's an "Uncle Bob" song near the beginning of Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along, when the jaded composer of musicals turned entrepreneur, Franklin Shepherd whose been invited to give a speech to valedictorians of his college seeks to persuade them to compromise their ideals to the standards of the world....at which one of the students calls out "Compromise? I haven't even started." (Matt the Rev)

In my business in international trade, if the proper chain of irrevocable documents was presented according to protocol, then any dispute would have to be resolved in court. Thus, if a bowling ball importer's bank paid a shipper on behalf of the importer after the presentation of appropriate documents, then payment is effected. If, upon delivery, the "balls" turn out to be cubes and not spheres, there's no recourse to the banking system, since all protocols were followed. Now a court has to find for you and you hope to be made whole. How is the irrevocability of a blockchain transaction any more burdensome? Actually, now that I think of it, the smart contract could include sign-off AFTER delivery and unpacking of the goods prior to payment. Or repayment of a prepayment -- after proof of repacking and return shipping. A reversal, when implemented by a smart contract, should be no different than reversing a journal entry by adding a previously appended credit to the debit column. You never subtract in a double-entry ledger. The Cambrian explosion of these projects is doubtless a sewer. But, while the concept of an append-only spreadsheet is of limited value -- UNIVERSAL, FAIL-PROOF MONEY is exactly the soul of that limited value.
