my dad speaks basque and let me tell you a few things 1. basque only uses C, Ñ, Q, V, W and Y in loanwords 2. you forgot digraphs like RR, TS, TX and TZ
The reasons why h, j, q, x and z seems to be different? H - The letter H from Maltese seems to be sounded just like "għ". J - The letter J from Maltese may be sounded like an "Y" just like German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Finnish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonia, Albanian, All Slavic Languages, Etc Q - Q seems to be sounded like an Glottal stop. X - X is sounded like an English "Sh" in Maltese just like Portuguese, Basque, Catalan, etc. Z - Z in Maltese sounds like an letter "Ts" while the Z with an Dot sounds like an Real English letter Z.
