Do you still have a service dog? I liked watching your video where you showed how you walked your dog using your wheelchair. (I also use a chair and have a dog so was interested.)
@swissmiss221 Hi, yes kane is still my service dog. But he's getting old so I don't run him around as much as I used to. He also has trouble jumping in my jeep now. But I bring him places every now and then.
I think you are the coolest!!!! I’ve been following you for a few years and you never seems to amaze me!!! I love your spirit and how you show others that they can still live a happy full life even after a spinal cord injury. You are the epitome of never stop thriving. Continue to be you…. You rock dude 🙌🏽
@mseddie Dogs will be dogs. But yeah training is a must if you want to walk them care free. I just don't tie them to my chair. I find that stupid and a risk I don't need to take. When I have full control with the leash in my hand.
Yeah, I usually get lightheaded when I stand up for a period of time I have cerebral palsy spastic diplegic . Hoping to get a set of KAFO that I can wear most of the time in my chair and out of my chair.
What company makes your KAFO’s? Are they relatively lightweight? Do you find that you can sit in your wheelchair while wearing them for an extended period of time or is it too uncomfortable? I might have to start utilizing KAFO‘s again because of pain in my knees and ankles
I have cerebral palsy and a neurogenic bladder because of it. One of the best things I ever did was get a super pubic catheter. I used to have to intermittent cath 6 to 8 times a day with various different brands and some days it felt like all I ever did was take care of my, urinary care .the super pubic catheter gave my life back. There was an adjustment. Of course and I did yes at the beginning get some urinary track infections, but your body does get used to it and they start to get for me less and less I may get two year now. it'sso much easier than intermittent catheterization the leg bag and super pubic catheter act like an external bladder and makes it much more normal day to day. Just thought I’d share my experience. Have a great day. Thanks for your videos.
Nice video mate, i travel to El Salvador frequently and its not accessible at all, i made a few vids of me travelling around there to help those in a chair interested in going.
Hey i am actually doing a similar piece and i am trying to figure out what plaster to use, did you just use pre-made plaster of paris bandages? thanks!
Great to see someone using their brain, loved the trolley jack thing for turning the bike, I could imagine a lot of people sitting there thinking I cant turn the bike around, I hope your thinking about building some kind of turntable for it later on or maybe an electric motor for reversing.
Very nice set up. The 3 gears and no clutch answered my question. I'm a quadriplegic and ride/drive a 1977 Hondamatic with a sidecar. It's a 2 speed with no clutch. Keep riding. I have a video of it on RU-vid. Sorry, it's on my personal account, the title is (Ed's wheelchair motorcycle)
i know its a little off topic but I am genuinely concered about the lack of side walks forcing you to be in a chair in the road.... Not that the dog will mess up but more like you getting crashed into from behind....
I thought I was doing ok until i saw how much stronger you are! Keen to get this. I find floor to wheelchair transfers pivoting around one arm much easier than the two arms behind you technique @2:58 which i can't even do anymore, even with lower arm on the ground.
