For 4 years my service dog had these episodes but i was told it was seizures but not enough to require treatment. This us exactly what I have on video of him doing and i didn't know. im going to see a vet and get him treated
Hello, thank you for your videos about animals neurology diseases. I had a wonderful cat, Mici, and she had several neurological symptomes. I estimate you tell about the disease to the pets owner, what do you think about the problem. I have already seen FELV, cancer and old- age stroke in cat, cancer symptomes in my dog/cats in my childhood, but I have never met with such neurological symptomes in cats. My cat have already had problems for 1 year, but we do not know which one is her disease. She had MRI too, and vet-doctor saw nothing 1 years ago? (despite she had symptomes- left- paralized in short time- she recovered). So I estimate pet- ovner is given every infromation about pets. She died in this year, she has a lot of neurological symptomes: Doctor said myastenia gravis, but I do not know what happened, because she had other symtomes too- similar stroke, brain tumor and so on. Is it possible nobody saw nothing 1 years ago- when she had during womiting she had paralyzation on the left side in short time? After she had no symptomes during 1 year. And now sommer she had a lot of problem- the third eyelid dropped forward. After she had an operation because she had FORL, a thooth is had to operate, after she had paralyzacion on left side, she could not stand up, she fell down during going, and she wheel a lot, and she had eclampsya too. Her head falled back in my arm- it was so terrified and she run with her legs if she was in my arm, and she seemed to sleep- and she went in cirkles. Before her dying she did not wake up, and she had just reflex symtomes. And she had seizures too. My cat died in 3 weeks. Doctors said myastenia gravis. Eye- reflex was good, but in her last 2 days Mici was not woken up. She had just reflex when I took meet in front of her. She could not stand up after her last week. I would like to ask you, did she had other problem next to myastenia? What do you think? Because I saw a lot of symptomes what showed myastenia, and several others referred to others symtomes too. Her balaced was worse and worse during days. What do you think? Her blood pictueres was good, UH was good, and so on. FELV test was negatív- fast test and antigen test too. And she showed stroke and brain tumour symtomes too. We wanted to go to a neurologist veterinary, but we could not take her, because she degreded in short time and she died. What do you think, Mici had just myastenia or others too? What helped her? (She got Mestinone, and szteroids in 3 days too. She was better steroids (every day), but after steroids Mestinone did not help her.) I think so she had brain tumour, and stroke next to myastenia, but I do not know. What do you think about this story?
My dog was totally fine, never had a problem then at almost 3 years old i took him to the vet to get a rabies vaccine and he started having siezures that night and now for the past 2 years.
My 12 year dog was having chronic kidney disease (ckd), his treatment was also going on, I used to take him outside without leash, one day I saw him picking a small poop of another dog/ monkey, since then I was watching him down day by day. Is it has contributed towards his decline?
pls can you give some advice my mini dachshund can't stand or walk more than 2 months now.. xrays are normal... how do i start his rehab properly? i help him stand, i use tens and ems unit to help regenerate his nerves.. now his tail is starting to wag.. when i help him stand his hind leg seems to try to stand.. no problem with front legs... i will be very thankful if you can help me he is only 6 yrs old.
I loveee the underwater treadmill. Unfortunately there is no longer a facility close by. Now All I can do is put my dog in the pool and have her swim. I still feel underwater treadmill is much better though. Have had terrific results using it. GREAT video. What's your thoughts on shockwave therapy? It wasn't seen in this video.
Thank you so much for this informative video! This just happened to my dog and it's 1am and there's no 24/7 vet clinics around, it scared me so much. Looking for info I saw lots of full body shaking dogs and it wasnt like what just happened to my dog so I was getting even more nervous ;; she also acted like nothing was happening it was so confusing. I'm still taking her to the vet as soon as I find one open but at least this will allow me to be slightly more calm
Looking for a video like this to confirm that my 14yr old shih tzu had a seizure today and I am taking her to the vet tomorrow. I wish we had a vet that stayed open late.
My cat was the same . I had to feed like you . Please dont worry , signs of appetite take around 7 to 12 days . He couldnt even kift his head up until day 8 and he staggered to his feet on day 12. Mine didnt want food either and it was a stuggle plus super stressful . Now on day 34 he is eating like a horse and scampering aound with very little wonkiness . My heart goes out to you and your kitty . It just takes a bit of time so have heart ❤️
My kitten was on GS 44 and we switched to EIDD because the injections were so difficult . He is 34 days into treatment and doing ever so well . He is 17 weeks old so he was very young when he got it . He was a day or 2 away from death only able to move his eyes , He's an absolute darling and already has a big appetite , loads of energy . He's still a little wonky but that doesn't bother him much . I am documenting his progress everyday . All I can say is please do an update as we 1 year on . My heart goes out to anyone who has lost their cat through FIP but now it's treatable so please don't be afraid to try . Neither of my kittens treatment are official but there are ways. Please don't despair
My 12 year 3 months pom eskie dog was dealing with chronic kidney disease (ckd), and he was undergoing with the treatments but one day I took him out n he ate a small poop of another dog/ monkey, I was shocked to see it, did it increase the infection inside him ?

My dog is 14 years old and has similar symptoms. We were advised to get an MRI scan. If surgery is necessary, we are hesitant due to our dog’s age, and we were told that medication treatment might be needed. Do you think medication treatment would be effective?
I’m trying to figure out if our 12 year old dachshund just had a seizure but it was nothing like this at all!!! I am so sorry for anyone who ever has to experience this or that whaling! Poor dog & everyone there! God bless y’all!💜
My dog has generalised seizures. This is when the seizure is that of the first clip but he can foam, deficate and urinate during or just after. All I can do is to try to keep him cool (open windows/doors if in the house) crouch down behind him if there is space (incase i need to get away) and protect his head by putting my hand underneath and sometimes with a folded up towel if I can get to one to stop his head bashing the floor multiple times during this episode. I can control him better to stop him pushing himself into things if needs be. I never hold him down so he has the freedom to move how he needs to during but i will protect him from bashing into things if he moves or flips over. I talk to him in the calmest most gentle voice saying "its okay, its ok" to soothe him through the seizure (even though he is unconscious) and until he has fully come out of it. He is dazed, confused and wobbly when he gets up so is very important to keep a calm environment with slow gentle movements to do my best to not send him into another seizure as he is very nervous after the episode. Thats all anyone can really do when this happens i think. Some say to leave them and get away/ close them in a room to protect the kids and yourself which is fine too just make sure they cant further damage themselves if possible. Its not nice to see or have to live with and everytime it happens my stomach is in my mouth with worry. The seizure itself lasts around 30-45 seconds but this is the longest 30-45 seconds of my life everytime. I hope this can help at least one person until they get help from a vet! Love to you all ❤
So when our dog has seizures she doesn't know where she is her eyes are dilated and she just has him for no reason because she had one this morning like at 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. and now she had one at 7:00 for no reason I just if you know a way to for dogs not to have seizures please like this comment and then just text it to me in the comments please
Sorry to hear. It likely isn’t/wasn’t an FCE and was more likely another condition such as IVDD, inflammation or tumor. These conditions can start in one leg and get worse to affect both sides. FCE usually doesn’t progress or worsen.
Our lil "stinky" boy is 18 years old with rear leg paralysis and he's still going because we refuse to give up on him. We help him with nearly everything now, not just going to the bathroom, since as he gets even older, he's becoming less able to do the things he could still do with his front legs. We bring his water and food to him more often now, but as long as his pain levels are under control, we won't put him down. Our hope is that he is able to pass naturally at our home where he is comfortable and happy.
We had an American Bulldog named Ruckus. Never figured out if she fell or had an accident but she just got worse and worse and we had to put her down. Holy shit I ain’t never cried so bad over a pet.
My dog became stiff n difficulty breathing while laying down but before i thought it was asthma n would get stiff standing up. I had no idea it was a seizure. Shes 8 yrs old.
Praying for you my friend 🙏. I am currently laying on the floor next to my pup and she just declined to an unresponsive state. I was hopeful this morning, now im scared for her and praying fiercely 💔🙏♥️
@ 2:36 , do you have the information on that dog? My terrier looks exactly like that and is acting the same exact way. I was wondering if I could find out what helped that doggy. I took mine to the vet and they ran bloodwork and everything came back clean and good so they prescribed muscle relaxers and those didn’t work so I thought it was bad case of anxiety so tried trazadone it won’t work so now my vet is trying to send me to the specialist to spend thousands when I’m wondering if all I need is a script of prednisone?
Hello Dylan, we know how difficult it is to see your pet experiencing neurological symptoms. Took my dog to the vet bc he doesn't wanna put anything in his mouth. His teeth are a problem, but she said ivdd bc he didn't want her to move his head/neck, but at the same appointment he was twisting and turning his head/ neck to see everything and didn't yelp or act uncomfortable at all while I was holding him. He wanted to play and hump his bear when he got home. (I didn't let him.) Was it just adrenaline? Bc he's not acting hurt anywhere except his mouth. I hate to confine him if she's wrong, but I don't want him to get worse if I'm wrong.
My dog patches is a healthy 17 year old Maltese Poodle.. she might be a bit old but she jumps n runs like she was a puppy.. however, all of a sudden just yesterday in the afternoon she had that hung back and is very stiffed.. i can comprehend how in the morning she was good n all of a sudden she is like this in the afternoon.. she didn't fall, we have no big stairs.. she matches all of these symptoms 😢

This exact same thing happened to my cat. I told the vet that his tail was just dragging on the ground and he wasn't jumping. The vet thought it was a painful UTI or bladder infection. On a whim, they asked if I wanted to move forward with an xray and thank goodness I said yes. After the xray I took my cat to the emergency vet for an MRI. The vet said there was a chance it could be cancer. I was beside myself. After the MRI said no cancer we moved forward with surgery. I just picked my cat up yesterday and he is back to himself, wanting to hang out with me again and not hiding. He's pretty fragile right now and is supposed to be on cage rest for 4-6 weeks. I feel blessed that I could afford the surgery and pray that he makes a full recovery and lives a long healthy life.
We are grateful that you proceeded with care from a specialist for your cat. That is the best thing you could've done for him. We wish your furry friend the very best on his journey to healing and recovery!
I live in a small poor state and I don't even think a vet has an MRI machine And even if they did there is No way we could afford it. I am disabled myself
I think symptoms come back because often changes aren’t make in the dogs life. Jumping off furniture should always be a no no, and I feel stairs should be as well. I also think IVDD dogs should be on supplements for the rest of their lives and get established with an animal chiropractor.
