@ 3:12, "I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody, I don't think so" Try Ed Gagliradi Mick! Ed's bass playing and vocal harmonies on those first 2 albums were fantastic!
Great interview! Been a fan of TSO for 25 years and watched my first full concert this past season. The entire show was awesome but Joel and that Chrome Boy on "Oh Holy Night" was just so hauntingly beautiful to listen to. Already looking forward to the 2024 season, keep on rockin' TSO!
Chrs and Tina are just superb. The recent Colbert interview was lead by them for the release of Stop Making Sense... a great sense of humour and a cool vibe.
Second! And... ! I live in Annapolis, MD so it's like I can feel like DC and Baltimore are right next door. I like to hang out at Bill's Music in suburban Baltimore and have met Lzzy Hale of Halestorm there. Bill's seem to be proud to let you know that Gina rehearses there but I haven't had the honor of running into her. Maybe I just need to hang out there and keep my eyes and ears open! ❤😃😄😁🙂😊😇😇☺😎😺😸
DAMN! I wish I could've seen him more than 250 times! He made me want to play guitar too. It's the reason why I now own three Telecaster guitars. Only one Esquire. This man is a legend in his own time. There will never be another and I'm glad that I got to know his music and the legend that he is!
I interacted with Eddie a few times via email back around 2002-03. Great guy. Wish I had been able to see him live. Much love goes out to Laurie and the kids.
My cousin operated the Himalaya ride on the Wildwood Boardwalk in the late 70s. For those unfamiliar, it spun you around at approximately 600 miles an hr and blasted the best 70s rock n roll at deafening volume....anyway, the 1st Foreigner record was a go to soundtrack for my cuz. Some my earliest and best memories of being a kid.
Please Mick Jones is an ego maniac who could never bring himself to give Lou Gramm the credit he deserved as a singer or a sing writer. He was always looking to over emphasize his contributions and minimize LG. Without LG vocals foreigner is a garage band; the dude who sings now doesn’t even begin to have the range of LG.
It's interesting you mentioned the dude , yep, Kelly Hansen and can you believe it that part of reason they're putting on this Farewell tour in 2023 is not just because Mick (who's hardly on stage/his age/health issues)alone decided that. No ! A big part of it is because Hansen (who's 61yrs) claims he doesn't think his voice can hold up singing the Foreigner catalog because of his AGE. Lou is 72 yrs and came out of retirement in 2021. Amazing !!
I Love Mick and Lou and Dennis and Rick and the band that started the whole Forienger Thing Together!!! What a super Group, a Talent on Loan From GOD !!!!
It was Mick , Ian McDonald (RIP) Lou, Ed Gagliardi (RIP) , AL Greenwood, and Dennis Elliott that started Foreigner. Rick came in on the HEAD GAMES album (1979) In 1980 the classic 4 you mentioned sailed on through the 80s.
Loved listening to your interview with Jack Blades. What a great guy, what an outstanding band. Saw them in Wisconsin this year and they were so entertaining. Very energetic. Spectacular/ wonderful mix of music and such talented musicians. Can't wait to see them again in 2023.
Ed Gagliardi. His name is Ed Gagliardi!! He was the original bassist that Mick fired after Double Vision and who died of cancer a few years ago. After all these years, Mick still can't bring himself to say his name. What a prick!
Lou was in on the firing and all the other firings as well. So the founding member (Mick) fired them and Lou sided with him thinking he was safe with this guy... Yet nobody is as bitter as Lou
@@newavatar2947 Yep! And Mick turned on Lou too! He would have fired Lou too earlier on if it wasn't for Lou's increditable voice! And I'd be bitter too if I was screwed out of millions of dollars in royalties too!
