@@charlieosko4151 it’s about half way around the mountain you will see a little track running off towards the mountain and it’s about a 5 minute hike up to the base, once you are at the base of the mountain you walk right and from memory there is a little grass ledge and it’s just there about 2 meters before the end of the ledge.. if we were back in australia we would take you up but norm is in america and I am in Argentina
Great video. We first climbed the caves route in 1987. There was s book in the first cave then inside a tin. When I do it now I always take a rope for easy descent from the rap stations.
Nice work! What kind of shoes do you recommend for the climb? Sticky approach shoes necessary or would grippy hiking shoes or trail runners do the job? Cheers
It’s not a rowt it’s a root! Caves Route is pronounced Caves Root not rowt. The climb in this clip is not Prometheus, it’s Prometheus 1 or Prom 1 or any one of dozens of variants of Prom 1 and they are all good routes (roots not rowts)!
@@willbower1839 . Viva La difference. How about cough, bough, dough, tough, through? The language is confusing and amusing. A router bought in a hardware shop is not pronounced rooter. A rock climbing, ramble or bush walking route, in the UK, Australia and New Zealand is pronounced root despite being spelt route. In the USA and Canada the word route has changed over a very short period of time. The 1960’s pop song ‘Route 66’ was pronounced ‘Root 66’. Nowadays, if you drive down that highway people say ‘Rowt 66’.
Hi there I was wondering if you are planning on heading up to the summit this weekend? My email is madeleinegrace08@bigpond.com. I’m a first time climber and have little experience.
Hi Madeleine how are you, sorry for the late reply, we will be heading back up the mountain on Saturday the 27th, let me know if you are interested in joining in, happy to show you the way
