Thanks a lot. My dad Left me his 97 s10 pickup truck up with a uni mount western snow plow. He never let me operated his snow plow all those years. I didn’t know How to hookup his plow until this video.
what did you hook the straps to, to lift it? the loops bolted to the corners? I'm going to have to pull my bed to change the fuel pump, and I want to use something like your block, and my tractor FEL to take if off and put back on
I just bought this setup mounted on a used truck. I have read many complaints on what a pain these r to hook up and unhook. Its not, as your video shows. Mine came with the chain to tight which left no adjustment for up and down, and the top pin missing for the foot
Thanks for the video. I can't believe you didn't sand blast and paint the frame before reinstalling the bed. That's one of the main reasons I want to remove mine. That and to remove the spring shackles and install a flip kit. and possibly a dump kit. We definitely need some good rust protection for PA winters.
So many things wrong with this video. I presume you didn't post what really occurred over the next few days? You have a primary head gasket below the valve plate that you didn't even check, much less remove and replace - that's the one that was blown. You needn't drain the system to do this unless your check valve is shot/leaking, or you do a ring/piston job on it, hence, leaving the loud draining air throughout the video was unnecessarily annoying. Odds are high, the cylinder surface or head or both, are warped. Very common on these models and painfully expensive to repair vs a new pump.
5:00 You want anti-seize on those bed bolts, not thread locker, and use new ones, if possible. Sounds like someone may have told you to do that, and you questioned your memory. They're like exhaust bolts, they'll rust and be a bitch to get apart next time. Thread locker is completely unnecessary, but at least it's not going to make things worse than if you hadn't used it at all.
Hate the unimount plows. Thank god western came out with the ultramount. Unimount is a pain and takes forever! Worst plow hookups I have ever seen. its a disaster
They tell you it won't work because you can do this yourself (as long as you remove all the rust and clean with a degreaser first). Most people can't form and weld new floor pans from metal. They are just trying to preserve their paychecks. I have seen this done to vehicles in the 1980's and the jobs hold up to this day.
