THANK YOU SO MUCH COACH YOU MAKE UNDERSTANDING DEFENSE AND OFFENSE PLAY CALLING SO MUCH MORE RELATEABLE AND UNDERSTANDABLE,, TAKING MY PLAY AND AUDIBLE CALLING SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE !!!
@@bradpirochta9293 So he doesn't have to come of the field in Base. He's still going to play Ni in sub packages. Regardless, he was one of the best Ni's in the NFL last year as a rookie.
@@bradpirochta9293 Kyle Hamilton is a great comparison for how Detroit will likely use him. Similar situation with KC, too, moving McDuffie more outside as the #1 CB, but still keep him available for the Ni in sub packages. Best players need to be on the field.
Good example of how zone defense is much better against the mesh than man-to-man. It also shows how important it is for defensive players to have enough experience to quickly recognize standard offensive plays and then quickly adjust.
What would you say the benefits are of working the slide steps to zone turning are opposed to slide stepping and man turning to outside releases? I get the thought of playing the fade ball better but does the threat of comebacks, fallouts, and back shoulders concern you?
The concept feels more like Banjo extended down the field rather than a true bracket, just in seeing those 2 clips. Curious if you’ve seen that second defender clamp down with the other defender once declared?
@@brianarmstrong7141 Banjo, Bracket, what you name it is really semantics (& up to you). I call it Bracket because the defender who doesn't nail down replaces the other in coverage. Since this is 2-man, the defender would then take the Deep 1/2.
Is this a cover 3 concept? My high school runs bail in man as a press change up. It’s hard to find teaching tape on it because every bail technique is cover 3
I coach corners for a pretty good high school team in WA and we run pretty much cover 0 with occasional robber (free safety or middle linebacker) help. We motor mirror (soft bump and run) most downs, what would you do on 3rd and long? Do you stick with press and live with some fades, do you bail and take away fades but are worse against everything else, or do you do something else?
you have taught me how horribly broken Madden is... you have also taught me useable defensive strategies to play with in the game... and to understand defenses better that I already did... salute...
@@MatchQuarters not even close. to real... here's something funny... I took cover 2 invert and made it into your 3y defense where the strong side matches and the wk side plays cover 3... mixing it in with 3 match c6 and quarters with an occasional blitz... not perfect ... those who can't read coverage are stuck... thanks again looking forward to your upcoming breakdowns peace...
As a WR you got to be responsive with your hands. Can’t just let that man slice and hook you without retaliation. As soon he swipes you got to get that arm back around with a windmill tech extend that elbow to create space. But that was a bad ball too.
Would you use smash rules to cover the hitch route as a Checkdown throw or rather take the quick hitch away and just double the slot fade as the play developes?
A Smash *should* play out similarly to the clip in the clinic. You don't have a true 'Smash Rule' in Match 3 because the leverage of the Ni is typically outside. This means he is blind to the Hitch. So, you can have a Smash Rule; it might get a little awkward when you also tell the Ni he has all of #2 UP. He'll just be late.
As a Texans fan I was hoping either DeJean or Kool-Aid would fall to us at pick 42, and of course they went 40 and 41. So when Lassiter was drafted, I was a bit disappointed tbh, mostly due to my own ignorance, but I gotta say, the more I see of Lassiter, the more I'm liking him. I can't wait to watch him in this DeMeco Ryans defense. How do you think he fits in? Will he beat out former first rounders Okudah & Henderson for the CB2 spot opposite Stingley? Or will he beat out Desmond King for the starting nickle spot?
The goal is for him to beat out King at Ni, but Houston needs a bonafide #2 CB & Okudah has never panned out. The Texans have a situation where they can put him in the spot he 'wins' & still have a viable option in the other. It will be an interesting offseason at this position, for sure.
I like Wiggins. Really good on-ball CB. Will need to develop some nuance in his game. Can't rely solely on speed. I thing the secondary in Baltimore is built to allow him to play the boundary X while he gets comfortable in the scheme. Mostly pressed in college, but they are pretty diverse in Clemson. I think its a good pick.
We did something similar out of rip/liz with the post / over with the safety nailing down the over and the nickel slingshots to the post. It's a great concept!
Here's one on Johnson & Gordon defending Stacks: www.matchquarters.com/p/defending-stacks-with-the-chicago-bears-eberflus ... I also plan on doing one on Johnson later this summer. And here is one on their front structure: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C0OG4grC9T0.html
I've always had trouble understanding why a CB is in an off-ball stance when all the offense needs is 5 or less yards for a first down. It always seems so easy for the QB to make that short hitch.
