The primary focus of Manufacturing Intellect is to rescue and preserve the greatest intellectual voices and bring them to you. I do this by assiduously searching for rare and unavailable video and audio; restoring video quality through denoising and deartifacting, upscaling, color correction, and careful sharpening; and meticulously repairing and conforming audio to the greatest listening quality.
My quest to preserve rare content takes me to various public, private and university libraries, thrift stores, used video, music and book stores, and into databases and archives all over the net.
I don’t understand how is any of this new or original - what’s the fuss? The counter culture revolution came by for a reason. What is interesting is that today in the US he would be called a Lefty, which tells us how sad things have become. At least he didn’t see the US during COVID.
Two observations: 1. Hitchens' critique of how Clinton responded to accusations of sexual misconduct would prove eerily prescient in the case of the PBS host many years later. 2. I was a pretty big Hitchens fan until catching an interview where he was asked for whom he would vote in the 2004 election, and declared he wouldn't vote at all because no candidate represented him. An all-time cop-out by an expert at harshly judging his contemporaries, all while refusing to make a choice, save to criticize and condemn others. Hitchens relishes in launching searing attacks, but is incapable of constructing a coherent, positive alternative vision.
How these Europeans believe they could just marshal their arse into Arab land stolen their land murdered their populations for 80+ years until this very moment in time and the civilized Western world agreed not only agreed but aided them in every possible way to murder these indigenous peoples of their entire existence!!! How can we say we are FREE we are morally on the right side of history? This is the most pompous loud mouth war criminal living today!!! No living human is alive who is more evil and diabolical than this man!!!
It's not a difference in sense of humor. I feel it's more like when you hold a piece of ice in your hands until it starts "burning". It's that space of mind where you reach so far out in tragedy and utter sadnesss that you'll begin burning with joy
Stephen King will be remembered with the likes of Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, etc. He is the greatest contemporary fiction writer of his time.
What a fascinating man Christopher Hitchens was! He was just real and sincere and thoughtful, enlightened, so articulate, frank and bold but not confrontational or angry... i noticed in all his debates his oponents admired him despite their opposing views.
At 6:00 her face just dropped when he brought up the Time magazine article and back then Time mag was 100x more influental(and truthful) then it is today.
This is interesting, and disturbing. Yes she was an adult but he definitely manipulated her. Whenever I meet an older man who is with a younger woman 10+ years younger I question why isn't he with a woman closer to his age.
It is so sad to see this problem fester for decades. I don't know the answer, but perhaps the geography is all off kilter, and should be redrawn as a solid block attaching to Jordan, by mutual agreement. It hurts my heart to think about it. I believe Israel should exist of course.
