Channel dedicated to my journey into Adventure Motorcycling - Travel, Destinations, Exploring, new friends creating great experiences....from someone that hasn't ridden a bike in over 30+ years...come enjoy the Adventure Journey!!!!
I just found this channel and love it. I've ridden a R1200GS for about 14 years and tackled lots of knarly terraine. But you are incredible. I don't know if I'd try some of this stuff. Great job!
good review, but the alpine tech7 dristar are everything but water proof, in light rain soaking wet feet. You will find reports of them being not waterproof all over the internet. Which is really a pity, cause they been super comfortable. I got them returned and my money back, what I really had preferred them being waterproof, cause they been really good in every other way.
@@lifesjourneyat50 I gave the revit expedition in size 9 and 10 a try, really would have appreciated if they would have fit my feet, but had to send both of them back. 10 not enough hold in the boot and the 9 really hurt. Now ended up with the Leatt 4.5 but just got them the other day. Only had one ride with them so far means there is not much to tell.
Does having the BLACKDOG crash bar supports left and right not being uniform on each side become a bother? Also do they ever get in the way and hit your shins? I do like the looks of them better than the Altriders terrible looking clamping system. Sure wish you would have done an install video on those. Thank You Sir!
NO they never bother me...they've saved my GSA from being totaled two years ago....they have been a life saver. I have videos on the black dog stuff...but no install sorry....next time around - thanks for commenting!!!
My Definition of Adventure Riding is up to a 70/30 combination (30% Off Road and Off Road = Non Pavement). My 12 Day trip (Southern Ecuador to Peru) through the Andes is my single best example. All other riding I do (with friends or with my Girlfriend I call "AdvenTouring"). Great Video!!
I just stumbled across your channel. I just picked up an xr400r to ride these same trails on. I don't have anyone to ride with but have riden one of the trails a week ago, and it was a blast. I just don't recommend doing it by yourself.
@@bubbarodge hopefully you signed up for Wallin Wayne Weekend....in a few weeks....you will meet 500 like minded people....and a bunch that live in that area... thanks for commenting and hope to see you out there....
At first I thought, what in the world would bearings have to do with brake performance. After thinking about it for a bit it makes sense as the rotor is "wiggling" it would push the piston into the caliper body. Grab the brake lever, nothing. Grab it repeatedly and it will force the piston out, pushing the pads back against the rotor. Thanks for the tip and the headsup.
I bought the old ones, and recently the new ones and have NEVER got a single koozie lol. Anyway, I like the new ones...but there seems to be a BIT MORE vibration blur on both mirrors now. Kinda bummed but I def like them overall better, was hoping to eliminate the blur.
Well.. I completed the course this past weekend.. Every time I crossed that bridge, you were thought of... and I crossed it often! I was the ONLY one in the course!
Another great video. Wow, the terrain you ride on that big GS is impressive. Other guys were on smaller bikes? Guy in red looks like he has trials experience? Great job!
I had the exact same thing happen to me on my 2013 Yamaha Super Tenere with OEM wheels, at 82,500km (51,265 miles). The wheel bearings had been checked 10,000km prior to the bearing failure.
Vile looking thing. A turd, no matter how well it goes. For myself, spending on a premium bike includes great looks, which this just does not have. 1250gsa likely my last one if BMW keep on this ugly track.... the std 1300gs is almost as bad... ugly, cheap looking, and too small.
Hello dear motorcycle friend. In desperation I looked for a video on RU-vid because I had the same problem as you on my BMW R 1250 GSA. Your advice was so good. I removed the sensor disk and it was actually a bit bent. I just bent it and now it works. I would like to thank you very much for your very valuable tip. Best wishes from Germany, Christian.
Great stuff Matt! Hopefully you make dirt daz in NH I would like meet you and talk about the journey I`m 59 and started adventure ridding with my two sons 28 and 24 in 2018 and making many memories all over the country doing BDR`s . Thanks for sharing your journey
